If you could describe a 'perfect' family, how close would that family be?

How often would they meet / talk?

After a conversation with a counsellor I am confused.

I thought that closeness in families was a good thing, as long as you all get on reasonably well, but apparently it's 'bad' and any family that is close is 'enmeshed'.

I would like to know what you think?

(My family is entirely )

New Favourite Series!
on

Such a respectful following people on their search for love.

I only wish had been so respectful and supportive of its participants.

There was zero mocking, odd music when participants spoke or infantilisation.

Just loved the participants so much and their respect and care for each other!

Watch it if you're feeling low, it's fantastic!

I use exclamation marks too much.

Ooops.

Idk why I do that because I'm not a particularly effusive person IRL, trying to wean myself off them...

I just sound so grumpy without them!

See!

I think my capacity for multiple social media platforms is now maxxed out.

Threads feels like an overwhelming whirlpool of people, but every now and again I can stick my head above the waves and the view is amazing, and the people are great!

But then I disappear again!

No Hashtags.
No Bookmarks.
No Keyword search.

It's very hard to find your people; we need community.I hope they introduce more functionality and apparently it will be linkable with Mastodon profiles...!

It's been a year since I've read a fantasy book and I've just started by Samantha Shannon and I am LOVING IT! 🥰 📖

It is 848 pages long, which is making me so happy as books are never long enough...

Fantasy is the best escape from stress and I've missed it so much AND there's an equally massive (880 pages) prequel; I'm just so happy!

And the cover, perfect!

Had to explain to a non-Autistic person why putting a puzzle piece on their advertising isn't going to attract Autistic Adults.

You can see the confusion.

"But puzzle pieces and Autism go hand in hand!"

I had to try and explain about the 'Autism Community' and the 'Autistic Community'

'There's this community that says they support Autistic ppl, but they're not actually Autistic, and they won't listen to us...' 😳

PSA Reminder to the Autistic Community to TRUST YOURSELF in Medical Situations!

I knew something was wrong, my relative looked white with grey lips.

We called an ambulance.

The paramedics arrived, all efficiency, but then seemed to change tune and decide everything was ok!

You know when professionals stop listening to you? And when you try and persuade them the less they listen? That.

We were told a cup of tea was all that was needed...

I talked to someone who has Autistic children, and thinks they may be Autistic too... it was very odd.

They had no concept of the Autistic Community and were confused as to why Autism would ever 'come up in conversation'.

They were really struggling with their mental health, and could see no benefit in their kids knowing other Autistic kids.

Then they started argue about how great ABA is and I just couldn't continue the conversation...

It was really sad 😔

On my search for new I bought some sets and I loved making them!

They're great, but there is a huge 'BUT'...

It is so eye wateringly expensive. How does anyone make a hobby of Lego?

I found 2 sets which were only $10 (an owl reading a book & a rainbow unicorn) but the other two were expensive (the 'Up House' and a medieval castle).

I can't justify buying any more sets, how do ppl afford this?

Am I missing something?

My life is without a at the moment so I've been exploring options to see what will 'catch'.

I'm looking at crochet, knitting, retro cake icing, Lego & flirting with dressmaking and medieval history.

I want to be completely mentally absorbed into something...

Are you between Special interests or are you completely absorbed in one?

Just wondering if those of us caught in the 'in-between' are common or not?
