Encore de l'argent public bien dépensé : La Poste va sortir un timbre "baguette". Qui sentira la baguette si vous le grattez.

Pourquoi se faire chier à payer les profs quand on peut fabriquer des timbres qui sentent la baguette, hein ?

@davidrevoy I'm looking to implement brush hover distance input for the brush engine in and , but looks it's not exposed in xi2, seems not that complicated to fix, do you know any developer who's familiar with this aspect on linux? https://krita-artists.org/t/possibly-taking-advantage-of-tablet-hover-distance-info/91667

davidrevoy ,
@davidrevoy@framapiaf.org avatar

@chengdulittlea Hey, the only contacts I met online who might know this aspect are the one who helped me when I had a button issue at the end of last year: https://lore.kernel.org/all/nycvar.YFH.7.76.2311012033290.29220@cbobk.fhfr.pm/ in the first replies, Jiri Kosina forwarded the discussion to linux-input@vger.kernel.org , and it looks like the right thread among the Linux-kernel mailing lists.

    @becomethewaifu Thank you. yes, the Luggage reference is wanted (Discworld fan here 😉 ).
    The Mimic is a DnD name at origin (so copyright?) but the creature exist in many fantasy games, anime, and books. That's why I prefered to avoid this name. On a personal note: I like the versions in Dragon Quest or in Secret of Mana.

    @oliviersaraja Merci! Web first et community first 😉

    @TheLostSorcerer Hey, I wish; but my blog system is a bit of an older age and I don't manage its code base. I would need to get a way to enter multiline alt text and a system that encode the characters like " or anything that can jailbreak the alt="" tag attribute. It's not simple, but it is noted.

    The future MiniFantasyTheatre website will have it (alt text are already part of the metadata that goes along episodes in my brainstorming) I'm working on that.

    Immich looks like a great self-hosted alternative to Google photos, and similar look, which I like since GPhotos one is actually nice. https://immich.app/

    davidrevoy ,
    @davidrevoy@framapiaf.org avatar

    @djlink Very interesting. I'm reading in its comments 'Only thing missing to me is a photo editor that lets me crop, rotate, and adjust saturation, brightness, highlights, etc', and it's something I couldn't find also on my actual alternative (Nextcloud+Gallery F-Droid on mobile). I hope these apps will get a basic editor soon. For members of my home, it was hard to convince at the time to get out the Google Photo system because of this feature missing. Years later, it is still absent...

    davidrevoy ,
    @davidrevoy@framapiaf.org avatar

    @Olomorn @djlink Hey, yes. That's what I use. It's also the only sane option that triage photo via exif date (and I have hundreds of Giga of family photos going to 1900). Yes, the small editor is on the Nextcloud app.
    Unfortunately, on the mobile side, the Memories client use the Nextcloud sync app. It's not a 2 way sync (if my wife edit one of our photos, it's not sync back on my phone).
    But good point for the Memories Nextcloud app: it retains the exif after edition, and date editor is good.

    all i want for christmas is CSS support for underlines to extend below SVG pseudoelements 😔 (as in the first image)

    @davidrevoy@framapiaf.org avatar

    @molly0xfff A valid wish.

    Here is a chaotic evil way to "solve" it 😺

    davidrevoy ,
    @davidrevoy@framapiaf.org avatar

    @knowler @molly0xfff Yes, as soon an image is in the content, the underline is not working anymore. But it's puzzling, because using pure text in 'content' works for the underline... Eg.

    a::after {
    content: " ʷ";
    font-weight: bold;
    color: grey;
    }

    (unfortunately, it's not the same iconic 'W' font/logo. Maybe it could work with writing it with an appropriate webfont?)

    @Mensogo Hey, that's right. I always had my heart for copyleft licenses; but I decided for Pepper&Carrot to use the CCby for various reasons. The switch for CCBySa and reasons on MiniFantasyTheater will be the topic of a blog post; I need more text to detail the multifactor reasons and report the issues I had with CCBy on 10 years of Pepper&Carrot and what I'll try to avoid this time.

    @shred Thank you! This font is supposed to be a Small Caps one ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Small_caps ) and I already differentiated for example the I of the i. So, with a bit more work, I can probably makes the capital a little bit taller, so the start of sentence works better and it might fix the situation in German. Thank you for this feedback, it give me a wider view of possible future problems that might be easier to solve now .

    davidrevoy OP ,
    @davidrevoy@framapiaf.org avatar

    @john Thank you for the feedback! Yes, the M is more problematic than what I thought, especially at this size. Thanks for mentioning it, it will be a high priority to fix it.

    The Italic variant is a font, but this one is just using some transform filter, and I probably put too much angle in it. A fun fact, the Bold and Italic of Patrick Hand is actually faux bold and italic, generated by Qt probably in Krita text tool. So, the faux italic of PatrickHand is actually better than my italic. 😆

    @hisham_hm Thanks for the feedback. Oh sure for the internationalization, it will require a lot of work. I'll figure it incrementally as I did for the Lavi font of Pepper&Carrot. About the variation of shapes, that's a good point. I'll continue to edit and keep this in mind, thanks!

    davidrevoy OP ,
    @davidrevoy@framapiaf.org avatar

    @mykolak Right, thank you. Yes, more spacing for the bold letters makes sens. 👍

    davidrevoy OP ,

    @mahlzahn Thank you for the feedback. I totally refactored it. (you'll find new version https://framagit.org/peppercarrot/fonts/-/tree/master/Latin?ref_type=heads ) a bit more bold, with all letter redrawn.
    My latest comic strip has it.

    A recent photo of my sketchbook, still training with ballpoint pen directly, a cruel training. But I am beginning to get a better ability to imagine perspective grids without tracing them, and I can even begin to plan full-page compositions. It takes a while to build these new skills, but they are worth it.
