Ever wondered how I create labels with the exact shapes of screw heads?

I use the "Schraubenkiste" font, perfectly designed for this task! Found it a few years ago and it's been super handy.

Grab it for free under the SIL open font license at: http://www.peter-wiegel.de/Schraubenkiste.html

Interesting new dyslexic friendly font - https://www.oliviaking.com/inclusive-sans

finally seems that font designers are actually talking (and listening) to dyslexics about what makes a font hard to read.

🆕 blog! “Use CSS to boost the font size of emoji with no extra markup”

I want to make emoji bigger than the text that surrounds them. At my age and eyesight, it can be difficult to tell the difference between 😃, 😄, and 😊 when they are as small as the text. Is there a way to use CSS to increase the font size of specific characters without having […]

Best SF geek book I’ve seen in years. All about the fonts and design choices they used in the movies to make the worlds seem real

If you read large print or dyslexic font paperback books do you prefer this to be indicated on the cover (say on a banner at the top) to help you identify the accommodation?

I compiled a quick poll based on different perspectives I've read.

@bookstodon many months ago I received feedback that some readers disliked how I labeled my large-font edition of Late Identified workbook. So I could do better, I asked.

The majority that participated reported they wanted the accommodation labeled on their paperback in a visible way.

“Large Font Edition” or “Dyslexic Font Edition”

When I asked where, most said on the spine.

Microsoft is rolling out the new default font in its Office 365 suite, ditching Calibri in favor of Aptos, which was created by Steve Matteson. "He wanted Aptos to have the universal appeal of the late NPR newscaster Carl Kasell and the astute tone of The Late Show host Stephen Colbert," the Microsoft Design team wrote in a Medium post last year. Here's more from Popular Science.

If you're on an operating system that doesn't have an updated emoji picker, even if you have an up-to-date emoji font, there's an online emoji picker here:

    https://github-emoji-picker.vercel.app/

This may be especially useful for any folks on Windows 10, which hasn't seen an official emoji font update since emoji 12 & which actively hides certain emojis 🤦‍♀️
