I was initially really hyped for the game. But after Thomas Mahler's post (Moon Studios CEO), where he explicitly opted for helping russians get the game with a cynic "don't care about politics" remark, thus openly mocking the suffering of Ukrainians - I won't be spending my money on it, and suggest whoever supports our cause should do the same.

When Hitler expanded his empire, many countries were poorer, technologically inferior, and less well organised than Nazi Germany.

Now that Putin expands his empire, we are much richer than Russia, technologically superior, and we have NATO.

And still, American and European politicians are waiting for a Pearl Harbour moment, before they will get serious about defeating this dictator.

What an embarrassing moment in history.

@bouriquet
The problem is, you (and the West in general) misread Putin and russians completely. There has never been and never will be a risk of globe-wide nuclear war with russia, purely based on a fact that all their elites are essentially deeply embedded into the western societies - their spouses, children, laundered money - everything. And there is no existential threat to russia to justify any reasonable use of nukes - they are the ones attacking. This is pure bluff.

i think it's time for me to migrate away from mastodon.social, maybe even away from . thank you for introducing me to the (actually not exactly, i had a account before that on mastodon), but it's obvious now we don't share the same central, community-forming ideals.

лишилося натрапити на фільм…

@tivasyk А хіба в цифрі нема де глянути чи скачати? Чи ти принципово прихильник дисків?

If your project requires a complex build setup, with multitude of questionable options, tons of dependencies, GNU extensions, auto-detected features and tricky headers/data/code generation, involving parsers, lexers, perl, python, sed, awk and whatever <your-favorite-tool> else - congrats, it is most likely way over-engineered.

Complexity sucks. Try to make your project suck less.

@yarkot Yes, indeed, there should be a balance, based on reasonable necessity.

The problem with many software projects is that they don't do it as simple as possible, far from it. One feature here, one seemingly generic helper tool there - and here you go - scope creep abound, setup becomes very rigid and special-tool-dependent, and overall, building something becomes a nightmare, unless you do it in exactly similar way the author prefers.

To my German friends. If you use a combination of router, ISP and - meaning you are trying to set up on the router itself - be wary, that this setup is known to leak your IPv6 address. On the other hand, if you use Mullvad VPN App on your OS, everything works fine. Not sure who to blame here specifically, but this has been a disturbing revelation to me. Be careful.
