F&F Entertainment sure is pouring everything they have to make #UNIS a huge success in just 2.5 years (2 years and 6 months).
They extended UNIS fan meeting and signing event in the #Philippines for another day. Originally only two days, today being the last.
Their Philippine partner, CDM Entertainment, created a very expensive way for fans to get sign access, talk face-to-face access, and high-five access, and it's all sold-out!
CDM Entertainment also did a “highest spender” battle, and a lot of fans bought a lot to maintain their position.
As far as I can remember, this is unheard of in the Philippines. “Highest spender” style came from the J-pop culture, and it rarely works in the Philippines. But this time, fans did spend thousands upon thousands of Pesos (₱) to maintain their spot (it was moving a lot). And this is per day of event!
F&F Entertainment, and their Philippine partner CDM Entertainment, already hit the gold with #UNIS, and their first Philippine fan meeting and signing event.
Imagine what else they can do once they hold a concert in the #Philippines, and if they continue to implement J-pop style fan meeting events. Like hidden tickets, hidden bonus profile cards, etc., in albums.
UNIS is something. 2 members are pure Filipinos, 2 members are pure Japanese. 3 members are pure Koreans. 1 member is half-Filipino/Korean.
They also have fans all the way to the Middle-East, Africa, and Latin America; solid ones, and they only debuted late March 2024.
F&F Entertainment, they really got lucky. They should take care of them well. They are in a good position to change the K-pop idol industry, and influence the entire Asian idol industry.
They have also proven that the Philippine market is ripe for the taking, and can handle a J-pop style fan events.
If you have not heard of them yet, they were formed on 2024-01-17 out of the talent search survival show #UniverseTicket. There are 8 members from three countries:
EXO Lay's #ShowItAll show is really hard for his trainees. They're competing with pro groups. Even if they match with #UNIS, a “rookie group”, they won't win. Half of UNIS members are pros already. And Lay's girls do need to improve.
Don't get me wrong, Lay's girls (they don't have a name yet) are talented. Also, the purpose of #ShowItAll is for them to learn and grow. Just that, it's super tough to match with experienced talents.
After reviewing the performances of #UNIS, I can truly say that they have a huge potential to be the spiritual successor of #SNSD / #GirlsGeneration. That happening lies on F&F Entertainment's people. The UNIS members are all ready to take that mantle.
They also can become the spiritual successor of the original #MorningMusume.
F&F Entertainment recently announced that #UNIS will debut this coming March 27th.
It will be F&F Entertainment's first #Kpop#idol group and first girl group. F&F Entertainment is a subsidiary of the clothing brand, F&F.
The UNIS line-up is half-foreign, half-Korean: 2x Japanese; 3x Koreans; 1x half-Filipino/Korean; 2x Filipinos. They were from the #UniverseTicket talent search / survival show which concluded back in January.
This will also be the first time, as far as I know, that we will see a medium-to-dark brown member in the K-pop industry, which the judges, like #KimSeJeong, super liked.
The members have a 2½ years contract with the possibility of extending it. Currently, they are more popular abroad (outside #SouthKorea). Thus, it remains to be seen how they will fare in #Korea's K-pop idol scene; as that market is the primary basis for K-pop success (not foreign countries).
F&F Entertainment is also planning debut tours(?) in the #Philippines and #Japan, where 4 of their members (2x respectively) hails from.
I think their success abroad is already a given, thus, F&F Entertainment may want to plan on targeting foreign markets as Plan B if they happen to not get highly ranked in the South Korean market. For one, their planned date is in-between the debut of new groups (March) and the comebacks of powerhouses (April).
