Promised to Fix How Challenges Are Handled.
A New Law Could Make the Problem Worse.

SB 189, which goes into effect in July, will give Georgia residents more time to contest the eligibility of fellow citizens’ inclusion on voter rolls.

The will make it easier to use questionable evidence in those challenges.

    But this will not be done by revenge. Revenge only leads to more suffering of those, who already suffer the most.

    The hatred needs to be stopped. The call for revenge because of dead children.

    This conflict will not stop as long as the bodies of dead children get dragged around for photos. And people share and spread those.

    @Miro_Collas @jonburr @AdeptVeritatis

    It's not just the ADL. If you read the Wikipedia article "antisemitism" ro which you linked, you'll see this:

    >>Many scholars and institutions favor the unhyphenated form.[1][46][47][48] Shmuel Almog argued, "If you use the hyphenated form, you consider the words 'Semitism', 'Semite', 'Semitic' as meaningful ... [I]n antisemitic parlance, 'Semites' really stands for Jews, just that."[49] Emil Fackenheim supported the unhyphenated spelling, in order to "[dispel] the notion that there is an entity 'Semitism' which 'anti-Semitism' opposes."[50]

    Others endorsing an unhyphenated term for the same reason include the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance,[1] historian Deborah Lipstadt,[18] Padraic O'Hare, professor of Religious and Theological Studies and Director of the Center for the Study of Jewish-Christian-Muslim Relations at Merrimack College; and historians Yehuda Bauer and James Carroll. According to Carroll, who first cites O'Hare and Bauer on "the existence of something called 'Semitism'", "the hyphenated word thus reflects the bipolarity that is at the heart of the problem of antisemitism".[51]

    The Associated Press and its accompanying AP Stylebook adopted the unhyphenated spelling in 2021.[52] Style guides for other news organizations such as the New York Times and Wall Street Journal later adopted this spelling as well.[53][54] It has also been adopted by many Holocaust museums, such as the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum and Yad Vashem.<<

    Taxonomists have a long history of cataloging everything they could find. Worldwide expeditions, museums and universities have all committed to classifying specimens. I imagine the first proposed principle will will give rise to discussion amongst all those interested in the philosophy of biology and in social ontology:

    >>...decisions about the creation of a unified global list and its components must be independent of political, economic, or other nontaxonomic considerations if they are to have scientific legitimacy and be widely adopted . <<

    I imagine that some will object to this principle's assumption that a clear line exists between taxonomic and nontaxonomic considerations.

    One of the biggest improvements in bus travel has been the increasing use of automated visible and audible stop announcements.

    I think that in the USA stop announcements were originally mandated under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Automated stop announcements now make it easier for all passengers to know where they are, regardless of their abilities and and their location in the bus.

    I learned so much from "Time's Echo". Eichler's writing about music, memory, and the mass murder of Jews is informed by both his broad historical contextualisation and the specific details he includes, often drawn from his own visits to places important to the music he discusses. An example of the broad historical contextualisation would be his account of the significance of music to German Jews and their aspiration to Bildung, while the author's visit to Garmish - Partenkirchen sheds light on the ambiguities and compromises of Richard Strauss's career under the Third Reich.
