This is my general recommendation for the best acoustic #guitar for the price. They play and feel like an $800 guitar. The tone, neck, and overall quality is phenomenal. You can occasionally find deals on these around $300. The "folk" version is incredibly versatile, so it is worthy for unplugged campfires as well as playing live. It's a solid workhorse that won't have a problem keeping up with a Martin or Taylor and won't give you "glass mandolin syndrome".
I did something today I never thought I would do. I got my first #Gretsch#guitar. I traded the Stagemaster for it. I would describe both the visuals and tone as "shiny".
I might put a pic or two of it on my Pixelfed in a couple of days.
Pound for pound, the whammy system on a #Fender Stratocaster is as good as it gets. I'm obviously not saying it's better than everything else in every way, but I'd take it over a Bigsby or Floyd Rose for any #guitar that I'm also in charge of tuning and changing strings on.
If you want a very cheap or starter #guitar, #AmericanMusicalSupply has an incredible deal right now on #Fender FA-125's. I bought one to have for when I'm visiting family back in Indiana.
I don’t know why I keep letting myself get pulled into replying to mostly-beginners on the #guitar subreddit, but a lot of people there aren’t patient enough and I am trying to explain things in a non-condescending and thorough way — what I wish other people had done for me when I was starting out. My replies must sometimes help, because I get up votes. Still, I’m tempted to fully block Reddit on my phone.
