Looking forward to setting up my used #thinkpad with #linuxmint next week. Looking for recos for easy syncing, mainly for my #emacs and #orgmode stuff. What have you used that you could recommend? I do have GDrive working well on my Windows machines, so could go that route,, though not familiar with how to do that on linux. Thanks!
Been trying trying out @logseq. I love that I can just dump everything and it will organize it for me! What I like: #notes are stored locally in markdown files (can backup w github), #orgmode compatibility, and ofc #foss. Althought I'd love to see a #vim editing plugin :) https://logseq.com/
Next to last, we have a demonstration of table calculations in Emacs! Only, I don't have to keep track of my weight loss, but I do have to keep track of other little things sometimes and it might be handy to learn this stuff for THAT kinda thing.
Pro-organization tip: (I always forget to mention this)
If you have more than one agenda file in Emacs, like I do, at the top of each one, you can add:
#+category:
And instead of adding just a word, you can add an emoji. For example, my reading list has a 📰. My home list has a 🏡. My emails list has a 📬.
So when you do a ‘C-c a a’ for agenda, it will show those icons in the left hand column and you can quickly visually identify them as you sort through your plans.
Okay, speaking of changes since I'm back home after so long, I decided to give my Emacs a little makeover. I started with Iosevka Comfy last night from Prot. Look how nice it looks!
Now for an Emacs thing, which I don't think that i've done for a little while. @kickingvegas has a post about Org Mode and Agenda items which I'm going to check out in detail later, because I might learn something new about stuff that I use every day.
Okay, this is how much of a geek I've become in the last few years. I just had a really lovely nap and dreamed that I was organising my college courses in org-mode in the food court area on my first day at university. 👩🏼💻
