I really wish I could like Lemmy, but I'm not comfortable using it given the founders' rather... icky... personal views. Not hating if you can look the other way but I cannot.

It's a shame that #Kbin seems stagnant. Here's to hoping @ernest gets well and gets the backup he needs to excel.

So, I need advice on #longcovid and medical advice generally. Trying to get a DX when all your tests come back inconclusive is frustrating. Bout to drop $1400 on a file review. Maybe. When the last labs come back with nothing.

"It is uh, long covid!" (Maybe)
"It is an allergy!" (Maybe)
"It is gut biome!" (Maybe)
"It might be MS but probably not!" (All clean MRI)
"You're too oversexed for your system!" (I mean, accurate prob)
"You've been cursed by eldritch forces!" (Fucking probably)
"You're developing magical powers!" (Worth the shit tbh)
"You're dying of something undetectable." (My late night fear)

Disappointing is watching literal genocide apologists run rampant all over kbin.social. Not sure if reports are broken or what but nothing has, as of yet been done.

If you want to laugh at me a little... I'm a broken American who now thinks in Celsius because my partner is European and I adapted for conversations. I feel weird seeing Fahrenheit now. Metric system is not a hard conversion any more.

TIL that Lemmy of Motorhead was an avid collector of Nazi memorabilia and indeed, wore some of the less obvious trappings. Came up in a conversation about #fediverse #lemmy because that guy was one of the inspirations for the name, apparently.

Do we know whether the people in charge of #lemmy.ml have responded about their seemingly targeted block of all #kbin instances?

Given the lack of response from the lemmy.ml admins and the fact that the issue is very much specific to their instance, this looks intentional. I hope not... seeing an instance break other instances' interactions by blocking incoming requests (while still giving their own instance full access) would be the definition of federating in bad faith.

TL;DR, this is the sort of behavior I'd expect from #Meta.
