I think it’s also just generally a good thing for them. I’m way more hesitant to buy stuff from humble and fanatical because I can’t return stuff, so I rather pay a bit more to get it through steam.

I think the thing about not allowing people to block admins is baked into lemmy itself, not something set up for this instance in particular, so not much we can do about that.

We have the means to destroy ourselves, and there are a lot of truly stupid people who have power over those means. I don't say I personally believe we will all die soon, but I can see how someone might.

So... what exactly are you alleging this mod is doing wrong? As far as I understand they asked someone to stop reporting stuff that wasn't against the rules. You then told them they where selfish, lazy and unwilling to do their job and that they should step down. That seems a violation of rule 1, or am I interpreting it wrongly?
I did read the whole-ass thread, but I don't see any reference to comments that should have been deleted because of rule 1. The rules of that community do not have rules against bad-faith arguments. Maybe it should, but it is shitposting after all. I don't really see the issue.
And I do care about your feeling about the modding, otherwise I wouldn't really be having this conversation, now would I?

Second remark, I agree that it wasn’t classy to threaten a ban like that, I told the mod this. Do I think this shows that the mod is inherently incapable of modding like you seem to do? No, as mods are also humans with emotions.

I can't really say much more then that I disagree with your assessment that our rules are to lax. We do our best to balance giving communities the possibility to regulate themselves, and the need to regulate stuff on an instance level. The nice thing about lemmy is that if you don't like the way we do stuff, you can always move to another community or even instance, in that way alone it's better here than on reddit (just to make sure I'm understood correctly, that doesn't mean we don't want you to be here).
Just chiming in here: there are at the moment some problems with federation. I’m an admin on LW, and generally we remove spam pretty quickly but it currently doesn’t federate quickly. We are working on solutions that temporarily fix it till the lemmy devs themselves fix it.
I would like to clarify that this wasn’t removed by an admin. The post in case was removed by a mod, and the mods of that particular community are at this moment discussing to what extend the rules should be taken literally.
I am not sure why you are angry at us (the admins), but if it’s anything I can help with feel free to reach out.
Just to defend the modding team, the post wasn't removed for the subject, but because it could be considered an opinion article. Not all mods agree on this point, and we are having a discussion on what should fall under rule 6. If you disagree with other posts, you should report it.
