Also, I wish they had an actual dung overlay on the wiki. I added that.

Having an engineer for a father, yes, I remember. It always ended with "Car Talk." /s

"DON'T DRIVE LIKE MY BROTHA"

Kids are honestly a vomitorium, though. They want to be listened to. IMO, the time for your input is when they ask for it, which is still often. The generational gap makes things just as awkward as not speaking.

Edit: This comment chain got really toxic for some reason

Metaphorically, yes. They let a lot of things out. That's why it's called that. It means ""to spew forth. " (that's in your link)

People used to think it was a place where people vomited.

That last bit made me nostalgic. When I was young, I didn't know the value of tools except as tools. I'd take/ use my dad's tools for personal projects (treehouses, small robots, furniture, etc...).

Long story short: He was a lot more upset about me taking the tools rather than my safety. Lol

Aren't they both based on Howard Hughes?

Moleskin should work. Also wear dress socks under your regular socks. You'll get fewer blisters.

Xanthrax ,
@Xanthrax@lemmy.world avatar

Yeah, I learned it from guys in the army. It's because dress socks reduce friction, and the normal socks absorb sweat.

Xanthrax ,

Military grade stuff generally sucks, lol.

I love me some darn tough socks.

I found this old girl on the side of the road, her name is Sunny! ( lemmy.world )

I took her to the vet and found the owner. I also yelled at them for letting their old dog roam. She's a sweet old gal, and she shouldn't be out there. I'll be checking up on her. Thankfully, they're going to still let me see her, even though I chewed them out....

    Masking is a part of trans communities, but they don't realize it's a part of other communities, too. Anyone who's marginalized by society is forced to mask.

    I think it's fairly obvious what masking has to do with trans people, I just don't understand the vitriol.

    Trans people are forced to keep their heads down while going to their non-preferred restroom. Many trans people go to church and pass; they are afraid to tell those around them about their identity.

    Again, we should all combine as minorities to defend ourselves and avoid infighting for no reason.

    Edit: Sorry for too many "theys." I'm just keeping it gender neutral. I'm referring to an individual.

    "There are differing accounts on whether Nikolsky remains hospitalized or whether he has been taken into police custody. REN-TV and Mash report that he has been detained, while Baza is reporting that he is still receiving treatment in a hospital."

    You can still be detained while being in the hospital.

    My Mom's been trying to get that done for years, but we live in 'Merica. Her insurance considered it cosmetic, even though it has a health impact, like you said.

    I was surprised they gave her the bellyband, and that's actually really helped. She's never had a terrible diet, but she was pushing 300lb +. I'm a foot taller than her, and I weigh 145lb for reference.

    She now weighs 165lb, I believe; It's a sensitive topic. She still has to cover herself in baby powder and wears compression EVERYTHING (pants, sleeves, etc...) to hide her folds. God damn the American Healthcare system.

    I smoke cigarettes and drink alcohol. I'm an unhealthy addict. Obesity is a disease that shouldn't be shamed, like any other addiction/ condition. It should definitely be acknowledged/ treated, though.

    If you look up "Couch Desk" they have a lot of similar options. Some that look even better. I use a lap desk personally.

    Don't use it to eat and watch TV, or you'll NEVER use your kitchen table again.

    Fungi are more related to animals than plants. Fungi produce "flesh."

    Sea anemones are a group of predatory marine invertebrates constituting the order Actiniaria. Because of their colourful appearance, they are named after the Anemone, a terrestrial flowering plant. Sea anemones are classified in the phylum Cnidaria, class Anthozoa, subclass Hexacorallia. As cnidarians, sea anemones are related to corals, jellyfish, tube-dwelling anemones, and Hydra. Unlike jellyfish, sea anemones do not have a medusa stage in their life cycle.

    They're a "plant" on the edge of creating a neural system while also producing "flesh."

    Edit: Jesus Christ, people. If you buy a $150 Thinkpad made by slave labor instead of a $1,200 MacBook made by slave labor, you're still supporting a capitalist economy based on slave labor. We all do. We have no choice. The number of smug liberals in the comments saying "well I buy a cheap used laptop" or "well I buy coffee...

    Asus > Lenovo

    They're very similar, but you get to support Taiwan with Asus. You don't have a pointing stick, though; if that's something you care about. The hardware is also similar, but Lenovo generally has better cases/ outershells, but Asus also outperforms them on price point and internal hardware and software.

    Xanthrax ,
    @Xanthrax@lemmy.world avatar

    I'm down with that, too. Depends on your needs, though.

    Xanthrax ,
    @Xanthrax@lemmy.world avatar

    Yes! Here's one example: https://www.asus.com/us/laptops/for-students/br-series/asus-br1402c/

    Like I said, they don't offer as many external accessories, but they're pretty close.

    This is coming from someone who grew up using thinkpads. If I were to buy a used laptop for something personal, I'd go with a thinkpad. If I have to buy something new, it's Asus.

    Supersets and subsets are pretty simple, and I wish more people would use them when contextualizing human knowledge. (Especially supersets)

    GZ! Just so you know, there's a screenshot plugin for runelite. I'll edit when I find its name.

    Edit: it's just called "screenshot", you should see if it's on, where the download location is, and see if you have an image. (If it means anything to you, I believe you either way)
