I've been around online since the earlier usenet days when you had to have some chops to know what usenet is (was), and how to get on it. Mastodon right now feels a bit like the good days of usenet, there's some of the same vibe.

Interests: bike maintenance, ebikes, orchids, cymbidiums, weird succulents, gardening in general, security engineering, current events, congressional shenanigans, courthouse shenanigans, US and european politics.

This is my thing: Reading trial transcripts. My job was reading trial transcripts looking for appealable errors.

Shall I tell you my favorite moment in a transcript?

The defendant (yes, my client) walked in to court with baggy pants. The judge (a woman) was offended and angry. She thought the defendant was disrespecting her.

So the "famously frugal" mangolini paid an extra $180k on $240k in bills just to keep his name out of the daniels deal. It also moved that $240k in bills from being paid in 2016 to 2017 and first couple months of 2018. I wonder if they had a liquidity crunch in 2016.
