What are some good examples of blogs, even small ones, that have federated their actual websites? Thinking of sites using the #ActivityPub plugin for #Wordpress or similar and that actually post regularly with multiple authors. Trying to see what the best practice is so I can help make recommendations to people or orgs that have a WP blog but haven’t gone in on Fedi yet.

I continue to be unhappy with my website/CMS/SSG situation but I found Publii this morning and it seems promising. A very basic SSG with a GUI for macOS and with theme, plugin and SEO options. It all runs locally and can deploy to Github Pages, etc.

Seeing creators and artists banned or locked out of the big social networks with no warning or recourse really makes you want to pour effort into the decentralized social web. These are people’s livelihood, just being yanked out from under them. I don’t want to jump into the replies like some jerk and tell them they should have joined #Mastodon but these people deserve an audience that can’t be taken away for no reason with no way to get it back. #ActivityPub #fediverse

As with Mastodon in the wake of Twitter, I feel so much more compelled to share on #Kbin than I ever did on #Reddit. These public, open services feel like ours in a way that makes corporate social feel like a weird anachronism. We’ve finally stopped doing unpaid labor for the ultra rich and it feels like we have a chance to build something new and apart from that.

When I see ideas like this from @louie, it makes me want to put more effort into my blog so badly. Every time I start to though, I immediately talk myself down to "Well, I don't have time to write anything too long." and I always just end up back at posting things here on Mastodon. There is something so cool about the idea of blogging but I always slap the "micro" on the front and end up just posting here. Maybe #ActivityPub in #Wordpress is the answer?

I have three big updates planned for @mastowatch in the short term and one of them is focused on #accessibility. I want to go back and make sure that things are properly labeled and properly grouped for folks using assistive technology.
