@briankrebs sure, blame it on your wife. Having been the husband of a minor public figure, we were always hyper aware of how our actions might be perceived and were so careful not to show bias. This is an absurd excuse.
Bruh. I just want a nice luxury EV that doesn't fund the world's most obnoxious man baby and his awful social media platform. If you're gonna lock BYD out of the US market, at least ask one of the US manufactures to make some good cars first.
President Biden in the Rose Garden, responding to a question about Trump’s comments on China “eating our lunch, says: "He’s been feeding them for some time.”
Apple has come under fire because its iPad Pro “Crush” ad depicts the destruction of items used by artists. Now folks are saying it's unoriginal too. X user Andy Allen pointed out that it bears a striking resemblance to a 2008 commercial for LG's Renoir KC910. Here's more from @9to5Mac.
@CultureDesk@9to5Mac Apple stole the famous silhouettes with headphones ad for the original iPod from my friend Gordon, who had recently created a backdrop at NYC fashion week that they completely ripped off. Apple has never been shy about theft.
The Department of Justice is looking into whether Tesla committed securities and wire fraud around its self-driving vehicle claims.
The investigation into whether Tesla executives misled consumers, investors, and regulators by making unsupported claims about its autonomous capabilities has been going on since late 2021, reports @theverge, but it has now zoned in on specific charges related to statements made by Elon Musk himself. Here’s more on the filing.
@TechDesk@theverge elon has been lying about this shit for years. I personally bought the lie, but because of the sneaky arbitration language in the contract, no one can sue as a class.
Every Cabbage Patch Kid is "born" in Babyland General Hospital, Cleveland Ga. Thrillist's Joshua Rigsby took his family there, persuaded by his two daughters who saw billboards advertising the hospital. "We were not prepared for what was next," he writes.
"Shell sold millions of carbon credits tied to CO₂ removal that never took place to Canada’s largest oil sands companies, raising new doubts about a technology seen as crucial to mitigating greenhouse gas emissions."
@davidho carbon credits are bunk. I remember when I first learned about them in the 2000’s, and I was like, this is the kind of bullshit that Wall Street guys come up with when high on coke.

I love that this is about an Instagram-based fraudster, and the presiding judge's name is Block.
"INSTAGRAM INFLUENCER KNOWN AS “JAY MAZINI” SENTENCED TO
84 MONTHS IN PRISON FOR OVERLAPPING FRAUD SCHEMES
Defendant Capitalized on His Social Media Persona to Commit Fraud, Including a Scheme That Bilked the Muslim Community Out of Over $8 Million
"Earlier today, in federal court in Brooklyn, Jebara Igbara, also known as “Jay Mazini,” was sentenced by United States District Judge Frederic Block to 84 months in prison for wire fraud, wire fraud conspiracy and money laundering arising out of multiple schemes that resulted in millions of dollars in loss to trusting investors. Igbara pleaded guilty to the charges in November 2022. As set forth in the information, up until March 2021, Igbara maintained a popular Instagram account under the name “Jay Mazini,” where he would post videos depicting, among other things, occasions during which he would hand out large amounts of cash to various individuals as gifts. In reality, Igbara was perpetrating overlapping fraud schemes, scamming investors out of at least $8 million. As part of his sentence, Igbara was ordered to pay $10 million in forfeiture. The amount of restitution will be determined at a later date."
It’s 4/20. Are you going “Cali Sober” today? Companies that make cannabis-infused drinks are encouraging people to ditch booze and hard drugs for weed on the longstanding pot holiday. There are dozens of drinkables on the market with names like Happi, Cann, and Bolt. "As a society, we drink our intoxicants," said Amanda Reiman, a harm reduction scholar and chief knowledge officer at New Frontier Data, a cannabis industry consultancy. But not everyone is saying cheers. "Too many people are still falling for this fad," Lantie Elisabeth Jorandby, chief medical officer at Lakeview Health in Jacksonville, Florida, writes in Psychology Today. Moderna CEO Stéphane Bancel says AI will help scientists understand "most diseases" in three to five years.
@Semafor quotes the executive: “The reason we still have people dying of cancer, people suffering from Alzheimer's, is we do not understand the fundamental biology of those diseases.”
@TucsonSentinel so white J6 people will catch a break for trying to murder the vice president and destroy our republic, but BLM activist, no break. Duly noted.
Trypillia Thermal Power Plant in Kyiv was completely destroyed by a Russian strike because Ukraine has run out of missiles to defend it, Zelenskyy says.
Although the first seven missiles were downed, the next four hit the plant.
