I grew up in #Canada, but it just didn't work out. I've been in the #Netherlands since 2018, and sometime in 2024, we plan to apply for citizenship.

Maybe we know each other from #LiveJournal some #Vancouver or #Toronto events. I've done #Music #Journalism, #Photography and #FineArts and accidentally "fell into" #IT, and then further into Financial IT.

Ryan Salame (former CEO of the Bahamian portion of FTX) has submitted his sentencing memo. He's asked for no more than 18 months imprisonment for his charges.

He was charged with conspiracy to operate an unlicensed money transmitting business and conspiracy to make unlawful political contributions and defraud the Federal Election Commission.

"We have paused one shipment of weapons (to Israel) last week," a senior administration officials confirms to VOA News. "It consists of 1,800 2,000-lb bombs and 1,700 500-lb bombs. We are especially focused on the end-use of the 2,000-lb bombs and the impact they could have in dense urban settings as we have seen in other parts of Gaza.     Justice Merchan starts off will the prosecution motion for contempt.

    He tells Trump he's about to issue his ruling, in which he will again find Trump in contempt of court.

    The last thing I want to do is put you in jail, Justice Merchan says to Trump. You are the former President of the United States and possibly the next President as well.

    But "going forward," he continues, "this court will have to consider jail sanctions" if necessary.

    @GottaLaff "will have to consider" is too soft to get through Trump's skull. It's going to have to be "this is the last time this court will sentence you to pennies for your contempt. Next time you will enjoy the facilities at Riker's"

    @GottaLaff my first thought was that it sounds like (in the text, which is hard) he's a soft parent using weasel words like "might have to consider" with a petulant child.

    I hope he really is able to follow through, but the idea of having to spend all day Wednesday or over a weekend in a Riker's dorm amuses me.

    Thanks for ensuring the courtroom for those of us with less patience :D

    If you have covid, wearing a mask at home and not sharing the same bedroom (if possible) with your household members greatly reduces the chance of you infecting them.

    @sabik @pfred60 @chrischirp @auscovid19 i had my first COVID infection about two months ago, and my ten year old and I would reach wear a mask when in shared areas of the house. He didn't catch it or carry it back to his class.

    Worked out pretty well for us, but he's pretty independent.

    My wife did catch it though we slept separately as soon as I tested positive, but was likely infected before I had symptoms..
