Regarding Fulton County, Georgia

ok, is saying they did NOT pay the ransom and no one paid a ransom on their behalf.

has de-listed Fulton County. I suspect this is not because the County paid, but because Lockbit was bluffing and had actually lost access to the stolen data as a result of the disruption.

What in the world was Fani Willis thinking?
(couldn't agree more)

by Ruth Marcus

As a matter, the allegations about a romantic relationship between DA & the chief prosecutor in the case against are irrelevant. Even if all the claims are true, they wouldn’t imperil the prosecution or justify dismissing the indictment…. As a question of atmospherics, though, the situation is a disaster…

The decision is subtle in places and not as clearly written as it might be, but reasoning is sound, vindicating positions argued by and skillfully grappling with complexities created by statute. My effort to illuminate, thread. 1/

Some observations about this response to arguments against removal of his case to federal court. Most of the argument turns on how Meadows reads the standard for removal. He claims that that it is so low that the fact that he was employed as WH Chief of Staff at time of the allegedly criminal conduct and that the conduct was in service to the President qualifies the prosecution for removal. 1/ https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.gand.319225/gov.uscourts.gand.319225.45.0_1.pdf

This memo from , opposing motion to remove his criminal prosecution to federal court, is a terrific piece of legal argument. It completely takes down the claim that Meadows was acting under the color of federal law or exercising official authority, mostly by hoisting Meadows on his own petard. 1/ https://s3.documentcloud.org/documents/23925493/georgia-v-meadows-fulton-removal-response.pdf

Note that , like , is claiming he should not have to surrender for arrest in . Clark is a disgrace to the legal profession. He has a real chance to be U.S. Attorney General if Trump is returned to the White House. Beyond sickening.

Because charged under statute, the indictment fully captures how extensive and coordinated were the efforts of , , , and the rest. All the acts described in the RICO count have been reported, even been synthesized by journalists. But the discipline …1/2
