Academics probe 's settings and get lost and confused
Researchers note many studies examinedprivacy issues with 3rd-party apps for Apple devices, little literature investigates first-party apps – like Safari and Siri. Just disabling requires visits to five submenus.
They also criticize data collection by Apple apps like Safari and Siri, where data is sent, how users can (and can't) disable data tracking, and how Apple presents privacy options to users

@tobiaspatton Hahaha … no, of course, because you can see she understood 24 enough to put it in the read-back text. But that would be funny to see 🤣

You know, even ignoring the ethics of for a moment... I truly don't understand the consumer-facing hype.

After, what, a decade of and Google Assistant and, and even now with and , at best, you get some trivia answers, maybe an image, and writing an email for you.

How is this interesting? How is this "The Next Big Thing"?

@renwillis

The difference lies in the bulk of stolen data.

That makes it useful

No more Narcs for an answer.

It is limited in its comprehension and will even lie to your face tho

@alcea yeah, it's not "smart", doesn't understand context or common sense, it's not intelligent. It just regurgitates whatever it's fed.

But even if it did that super well - so what? So instead of a search, I do an "ask" and hope it's not wrong?

Whoop-dee-do, right? After 10 years of "assistants", I'm still just doing reminders, timers, and basic trivia questions that I could google.

Apple may appear to be dipping a toe into the AI game, but recent reports and rumors have suggested that the tech giant has just been biding its time. @theverge tells us what Apple has been working on, including a potentially “really, really, really good Siri.” https://flip.it/KqrHth
