Dear Americans you should know their names because they want to rule over us as kings. They are Dutch Sheets, Lance Wallnau, Mario Murillo, & Hank Kunneman. The host is Gene Bailey of Flashpoint on the Victory Channel, which often hosts Mike Flynn & Lauren Boebert.

We are witnessing millions becoming radicalized in real time.

This is not a joke. Please be aware of the dangers.

Aretha Franklin's sons are facing each other in court over the Queen of Soul's estate. It was originally believed that she had left no will, but nine months after her death in August 2018, three handwritten documents were found at her home, and in April 2023, reports surfaced of a fourth will. Here's more on the complicated, protracted battle.

Facebook turns over mother and daughter’s chat history to police resulting in abortion charges:

Stories like this remind us why being mindful of protecting one's privacy online is important and that "private" messages in the majority of places aren't private at all without end-to-end encryption.

Be mindful of what sensitive data you're relinquishing to companies.

I respect the rule of and the institution of the judiciary, but I do not extend that respect or deference to the people without cause.

Justices Thomas and Alito are vile stains on the institution and they corrupt and distort justice every second their stench remains in the halls of the .

They do not deserve to wear the robes and sit as justices. It is a disgrace of all the institution stands for, and history will bear that out in the end.

NEW BREAKING: The DC Bar disciplinary regulators recommend RUDY GIULIANI be DISBARRED. The panel will submit its recommendations to the DC Board of Professional Responsibility for the final decision.

Disciplinary Counsel Hamilton “Phil” Fox, whose office brought the ethics complaint against Giuliani, argued that the most severe sanction — losing his law license in Washington — was appropriate because Giuliani’s conduct in Pennsylvania was part of a broader effort to undermine the legitimacy of an election.

Anyone know of other and themed newsletters/blogs/podcasts/etc.? I'm looking for more to both read and, assuming I do recommend it, add to Minimum Competence's recommendation page.

We seem to be sending a decent number of subscribers to the newsletters we recommend and I'd love to help other folks get some exposure.

FWIW, my lab @SuffolkLITLab works on market failures (e.g., providing assistance to folks who can't afford traditional legal assistance). Money is a constant battle because we're trying to help folks who don't have any. If you happen to be rich or know someone who is, please let them know that we take donations, and we even have a membership model if they like their names on things. See https://suffolklitlab.org/docs/affiliates.pdf [And yes, we're a 501(c)(3)]

Wow. So Facebook/Meta tried to argue that it was legally obligated to serve ads to its users (presumably based on language they added to their terms of service) and this allowed them to bypass any consent requirement for tracking and online advertisement...

And the Court of Justice of the European Union said "lol, lmao."

Smith argues that she doesn't discriminate against gay people bc she will make them other websites.

Justice Sotomayor in 303 Creative: " Smith answers that she will sell other websites for gay and lesbian clients [just not wedding ones]. But then she, like Ollie McClung, who would serve Black people take out but not table service, discriminates against LGBTQ people by offering them a limited menu."

This article suggests that fewer police may result in less crime. https://www.nytimes.com/2023/07/02/opinion/half-the-police-force-quit-crime-dropped.html

The conclusion is consistent with Dr. Thad Johnson’s research on community safety. Dr. Johnson, a former police officer and now a professor at Georgia State, spoke with SideBar about his research on racial disparities in policing. In short “we cannot arrest our way out of this.”

A thread on

First, some background

Colorado bars disc on the basis of sexual orientation in places of public accommodation. If you are a business open to the public you cannot disc against the LGBTQ community.

Lorie Smith is a conservative Christian who disapproves of same-sex marriage and owns a website company.

She wants to expand into the lucrative wedding website market, but she doesn't want to make websites for LGBTQ couples.

The rule seems to be: if a conservative white Christian is unhappy with law bc it doesn't reflect its conservative beliefs the SupremeCourt will change the law or grant the Christian an exception

See e.g. Dobbs, Groff, 303Creative

See also all those cases allowing public Christianity like Town of Greece, AHA, Kennedy

See also covid cases that ignore sicence
