ParabolicMotion OP ,

No. Why did you attach a link about Creative Commons and copyright laws?

ParabolicMotion ,

Maybe, but calling someone butch as an insult is going to earn her some angry replies from the lgbtq+ community. She should have not responded.

ParabolicMotion OP ,

Thank you. He is due to have his teeth extracted in July. He has round two of amoxicillin next month, after another appointment with the veterinarian.

ParabolicMotion OP ,

Thank you! I was so worried he wouldn’t make it through the infection. I thought it was going to be much worse, after I first realized he was attacked by something. I’m surprised, and glad, to see how fast his face healed. He isn’t completely healed yet. His jaw bone is still heavily infected, and teeth need to be removed. It’s going to be a long summer.

Please don’t use my name in online comments. I appreciate your view on that, but I feel that having a shaved head is more hygienic. It also has allowed me to point out the difference in head shape and features between myself and the two individuals who raised me. It’s a family discussion that has been delayed for far too long throughout my life. When people comment about my shaved head now, I like to remind them that many people lose their hair to cancer and the rest of the world should help them to feel as though being bald is normal, too. It’s a normal hair style. Let’s start accepting it as normal. Speaking of which, have you joined National Marrow Donor Program yet?

Please remove my name from your comment. I reported your comment as possible doxxing since I don’t recognize your username. I didn’t share my first name with you through Lemmy. I don’t believe I know you outside of Lemmy. Do I need to contact a site mod to have you remove this?

ParabolicMotion OP ,

You mean 3-D print? That would be awesome!

ParabolicMotion OP ,

Thank you! Glad it made someone laugh today. I was just so done with this dryer door, I thought, “can my old keychains fit these holes?” Yep! They did! I am so not buying a new dryer between paychecks. It’s going to be a few good paychecks before I can even think of buying one. We’re going to keep using it until it can’t be repaired in every respect.

ParabolicMotion OP ,

Cool! The under desk drawers were really impressive!

ParabolicMotion ,

Watch public college sports; where the athletes are unpaid, the revenue benefits a university, and the institution might one day offer your own child a scholarship, or financial aid.

ParabolicMotion ,

I had public college softball in mind when I wrote this. They aren’t billionaires. With all of the attention that baseball and football receive, they would just appreciate the fans being there to support them in the stands, let alone the money made from ticket sales.

ParabolicMotion ,

I’m sure you’ll be asking your first responder this question while he or she is in the middle of performing CPR on you, and calling for an AED, right? You’re not regretting the discovery of 30-2, are you?

ParabolicMotion ,

I don’t think I misunderstood. You see dropping dead as your prize for losing in some type of social Darwin competition. You don’t see medical advances and life saving measures as being part of our evolution, as a species, to better survive? No offense, but regardless of how you feel about being resuscitated, some paramedic, or other first responder is still going to try to save your life. They can’t exactly stop the process and ask you for your opinion if you have no pulse, dude.

ParabolicMotion ,

First of all, it isn’t “bro”. Secondly, I’m trying to make a point that valuing the mental capabilities of people is worth mentioning, when the OP seems to dwell on the physical worth of a human. Part of the evolutionary process is long-term problem solving skills, isn’t it? We create ways to resuscitate people, cures for diseases, and solutions for other medical problems. OP insists that gives us weaker people that continue living in our society? Weaker in what regard? If all cancer is suddenly cured, then which people are weaker? I knew a girl that had an intellectual disability, but was fairly physically fit. She could run well, and walked and talked as well as most people. Would you want to encourage her to have children, while discouraging some woman with breast cancer from having children?

I think I understood OP fairly well. I just question if he wants to limit procreation amongst the disabled. Remember that Hitler wanted to do that.

ParabolicMotion ,

Yeah, I guess college biology textbooks and Charles Darwin’s origin of species weren’t enough for me. I shouldn’t try to stop OP’s hint at arguing against letting people with physical disabilities breed.

ParabolicMotion ,

This part made me think OP was implying that they shouldn’t breed if they have a physical ailment, or disability:

Until about a day later when you realize it had absolutely no fiber and you should have paired it with a salad, or something, instead of eating just cheese.

ParabolicMotion ,

Forget the chicken. What came first, the tardigrade, or the egg? Well, in this case, I think the tardigrade would have to exist first.

ParabolicMotion ,

I think it’s staph. What does everyone else think?

ParabolicMotion ,

One of those Harry Potter jelly beans that tastes like snot.

ParabolicMotion ,

With a last name like Fuentes, the Nazis would have probably thrown him in a camp. I don’t understand why some people are white supremacists when they aren’t completely white. It’s like, are they racist against themselves? It’s like watching Dave Chapelle’s stand up routine about the blind, black, white supremacist. Are people like Fuentes for real?

ParabolicMotion , (edited )

I don’t think Nazis would have seen it that way. After all, most Jewish people those camps were pretty pale…

ParabolicMotion ,

I don’t think Hitler viewed the Spanish as equals. That’s all I’m saying.

ParabolicMotion ,

The fact that Spain allowed a Muslim mosque to be built across from Cathedral of Saint Mary the Royal of the Almudena just makes me question it. Also, the fact that Hitler was NOT Catholic, makes me think he wouldn’t consider a country of Catholics and Muslims to be on the same level as his people. Hitler’s plan for a master race was to make a race of blond haired, blue eyed people; traits of Norway and Sweden. I will never understand Hitler on that one. He was a short, O+ male, with dark hair who wanted everyone to resemble tall, broad shouldered, blond haired, blue eyed, people who typically have an rh- blood type. I’m surprised the man didn’t throw himself into one of those camps.

ParabolicMotion ,

Right. I think grouping people by color would make much less sense than grouping people by something that actually matters in the event of an emergency. People have spent so many years hyper-focused on race, religion, color, and sexuality. When someone drops to the ground from cardiac arrest, no one cares about those things. What they should be asking is, “what is this person’s blood type, in the event they require heart surgery and need blood transfusions?” No one ever seems to care about the differences in people that can determine life or death at some point. No one ever cares about what really matters until it’s too late. Society wants to divide itself? That’s great! Let’s do that by blood type so everyone can live near their potential blood donors, and people they could potentially help in medical emergency. Everyone will just downvote this, I’m sure, and go right back to discussing racial supremacy and who said what to hurt someone else’s feelings, in the political arena.

ParabolicMotion ,

I’m sure they used other countries like a tool, but it doesn’t mean they saw them as equals.

ParabolicMotion ,

Exactly. This Fuentes guy is trying to join a club that would immediately deny him admission. He really needs to self reflect. Everyone should be laughing at him.

ParabolicMotion ,

The KKK hated Catholics and would burn crosses on their lawns before chasing them out of town in the 1960’s. He has a Spanish last name, and you think he has ties to the KKK? Spain is heavily Catholic. The KKK would be burning a cross on his family’s lawn.

I come from a Catholic family that lived in the South.

ParabolicMotion ,

I guess that was their belated apology for having burned a cross on the lawn of their distant Catholic relatives. You gotta love the South.

ParabolicMotion ,

Seriously. Try visiting a foreign country and asking for a Pepsi. The closer you get to the equator, the more likely they don’t sell Pepsi. They have Coca-cola, though.

ParabolicMotion ,

Yeah, it’s called every pregnant woman’s blood draw sample for testing gestational diabetes. Not to mention all of the other blood draws. Does she believe that DOJ isn’t sent dna off of nearly every blood draw that doctors, and hospitals, make? Considering how many surnames and faces repeat in politics, I bet the feds all keep track of who is breeding so well, that they can predict when the next baby will be born to which family. The only ones they probably can’t forecast, after so many decades of watching families breed in this country, are the migrants that cross the border while pregnant.

ParabolicMotion ,

Not a crime. I used to mix peanut butter in my low fat, unflavored, Greek yogurt and then mix in jam. I did this after weight training as a high protein breakfast. The jam just added some flavor and sweetness.

ParabolicMotion ,

Ugh, don’t call her MTG. That means Magic the Gathering to me and I like that game. 😞

ParabolicMotion ,

I don’t eat chips that often but it’s a tie between these All Dressed Ruffles I’ve had in America and the Tatos in Ireland.
Apparently, the All Dressed is really popular in Canada.

ParabolicMotion ,

Really? They have been on the shelves in California for years. Most grocery stores have them. They’re really good!

ParabolicMotion ,

I think you can order them at Walmart.com. They are tough to find in stock in some stores. They are worth trying if you’ve never had them. Just fair warning, they are super addictive, and they aren’t that healthy.

That’s the room where the litter box goes.

ParabolicMotion ,

One of these. Tell him to wrap it around the polar ice caps, with the reflective side facing the sun, before it’s too late.

ParabolicMotion ,

Since my husband vanished and apparently left his ID to his friends, I guess I should just tell everyone that my life flipped a d_ck. I could say it made a u-turn, but it sounds too much like the slogan on the sign of a local church. It was down the street from the church we used to attend together. Maybe their “God allows u-turns” sign was just their congregation’s way of telling me to flip a d_ck before it was too late.

When you go through the divorce process sometimes you flip a house, sometimes you flip a car, …and sometimes, well, you know…

ParabolicMotion ,

Well, apparently the word never meant anything bad when it was originally put to that phrase, but now I have to edit it out because it means something else these days.

Trust me, I would have rather been in the business of flipping ducks, as some kind of duck farmer, than feeling like Book of Job and losing everything after my husband flipped his life and everything he owned to his friends.

ParabolicMotion ,

I did report it. I should check to see if it was removed. Honestly, I haven’t thought about it much. I have had other things to do, and it just wasn’t on my mind lately.
