Combine Angelou's "When someone shows you who they are, believe them" with the truism that in politics, "every accusation is a confession" and you get: "Every time someone accuses you of a vice, they're showing you who they are and you should believe them."

"No, "convenience" isn't the problem"
Such a powerful, hopeful message by @pluralistic https://pluralistic.net/2024/04/12/give-me-convenience/#or-give-me-death

The problem is monopolies and capitalists giving them unlimited access to money to become monopolies. The enemy is not convenience, it's monopolies and their empowerment.

Plus, convenience trumps everything, it's bad tactics to fight it in place of finding way to use it as a lever.

Thank you Cory, we really need that these words are claimed high and loud. We need hope that triggers action and will of change

Vice died the way it lived: being suckered in by smarter predators, even as it trained its own predatory instincts on those more credulous than its own supremely gullible leadership. RIP, we hardly knew ye.

@pluralistic 🤣🤣🤣

But yeah, it's the level of "oh no, a banana peel in front of me, I will fall again!"

Four years ago, I started pluralistic.net, my post-Boing Boing, solo blog project: an ad-free, tracker-free site that anyone can republish, commercially or noncommercially. It's been a wild four years, featuring over 1,150 editions, many consisting of multiple articles:

@pluralistic

and I'm extremely happy that you chose that way of sharing your thoughts, so that I can be part of some of them. Pluralistic was a good idea 4 years ago, and it was exceptionally well executed in the following years. Congrats, and I hope it will continue to bring you joy and connections, both social and of the cognitive kind.

Thank you!

Is autism self-diagnosis valid? Yep. 💜

Hey all, after reading dozens of research papers, and meta-analyses, and living through it, I made a thing!

I'd love it if you'd check it out! 🥰

Update: I've added a lot of new stuff to the project.

And well, there's like a very persistent pattern in all these self assessment test results 😅
Not as high as yours, but still in the "yes, lol" side of things
