It's amazing (for highly depressing values of amazing) how many people will reflexively bend over backwards to find ways to defend a politician bragging about literally SHOOTING A PUPPY.

And now we're going to be in a stupid arms race over this. "My opponent thinks she's tough just because she shot a puppy. But I regularly BURN DOWN ORPHANAGES." And so on.

@mattblaze ... and where a lot of people from the USA won't care about the lying while it makes them feel comfortable. 😬

US CBP says there's a trend of passengers smuggling bulk amounts of marijuana and hashish from Dulles Int'l Airport in Virginia to Europe.https://www.cbp.gov/newsroom/local-media-release/dulles-cbp-intercepts-43-pound-marijuana-load-destined-england-mwaa

We are a Union of 27 countries and 450 million people sharing one future.

Diversity is what defines, unites us.
Diversity is also what makes us love the fediverse.

As we mark two years on Mastodon, thank you for enlivening the conversation with insightful comments and content.

Love does not increase after the first day, but it deepens.

Let's make this journey even more engaging!

What topics did you like the most and would like to see more often 👇

helma ,
@helma@mastodon.social avatar

@EU_Commission Well, the topic I disliked the most is your plan to compromise the online safety, security and privacy of all 450 million Europeans with the plans to scan their devices. In addition, you are not open and transparent enough about these plans, as most of those 450 million do not know you are working on this. You know it does not work and that is in violation with human rights, yet you keep pushing. Why?

This. I’ve stopped following Americans on topics I find interesting, because when I respond it too frequently end up in me having to explain that, no, not everywhere is the USA

@photovince @notjustbikes Same in motorbike forums. Srsly, like people selling a BMW, not mentioning they live in the USA, while most contributors (and riders of BMW for that matter), live in Europe. It is almost endearing. 🙃 Smoker forums the same.

Bouncing with excitement that my proposal for a talk at @geant Security Days for the educational sector in Prague, April 2024 was accepted. I will attend with other @SURF collegues.
It will be my first international podium in and I hope to inspire CISMs and SecOps professionals of other NRENs. 🤨🤓

Does anyone have a very complete list of infosec accounts on Mastodon? The current top Google results aren’t great and I’d like to see if we can SEO some better ones.

@dangoodin @matthew_d_green There is a list, lemme check!

Educated guess ... EU laws work. Something with fair competition. 💪

"Microsoft has yet to explain why it's only allowing European users to open all links on their systems using the default web browser and hasn't implemented this change for all Windows users."
