I only know who this is because I watched American Horror Story: Coven

Ok, luckily someone deleted it remotely, but it can still be seen locally

I guess I can't make posts there from this account for the time being 😅

I think I'm ineligible. I think my sibling tried to register but was they were told they were ineligible because we lived in Europe in the 80's

I think it was due to a minor Mad Cow disease outbreak. We were also ineligible to donate blood until about a couple years ago

My 'hillbilly trike' is road legal - I've even driven it across state lines ( www.the-sun.com )

A MAN has created a bizarre hybrid vehicle out of a motorbike and an old car – and it’s completely road-legal. He said the building of his “Hillbilly trike” – made up …

A few months ago, Ann Reardon released a good video covering this

rei ,

That's cool. I just suggested the Ann Reardon video because she's addressing the findings from the WHO’s International Agency for Research on Cancer that's also mentioned in this article.

I guess I would say the paradox of tolerance. I'm sorry but I'm just gonna yoink the definition from Wikipedia because I'm not great at explaining things:

The paradox of tolerance states that if a society's practice of tolerance is inclusive of the intolerant, intolerance will ultimately dominate, eliminating the tolerant and the practice of tolerance with them. Karl Popper describes the paradox as arising from the fact that, in order to maintain a tolerant society, the society must retain the right to be intolerant of intolerance.

Bonus least favorite paradox: You need experience to get a job and you need a job to get experience.

[Game] West of Dead - a rogue-like twin-stick shooter with main character voiced by Ron Perlman ( lemmy.zip )

West of Dead is a really fun game. It's a cover-based twin-stick shooter, so there's a top-down view and you crouch behind cover in between shooting bad guys. It's also a roguelike, so you get random weapons each run and unlock permanent perks with the currency you collect. I'm typically terrible at roguelikes but I fell in...

This looks really cool. I like the Mignola-esque art style and I'm a fan of Ron Perlman

For me, it was The One I Love by R.E.M. from when I was about four or five.

Besides being a banger of a song, I think part of the appeal to my younger self was how easy the lyrics were to understand and memorize, which I still have memorized. They were my first favorite band too.

Listening to Paradise Lost by John Milton and No Gods for Drowning by Hailey Piper. Though, I'll probably be working on Paradise Lost for a while because I have to be in the right mind set for it; it's hard to multitask listening to that one 😅

I haven't heard of this artist before now. I really like his style

I'm not sure if this one counts, but I'm a fan of Rogule

Rogule is a minimalist online Roguelike game you play in your web browser. Everyone gets the same dungeon each day. You get one chance to beat each day's dungeon. It is free to play.

Preferred E-Book Library Server Software?

Looking for a solution to manage and access the directory on my NAS that is full of ebooks. Optimally I want to be able to web reader them but also automagically send it to the email that sends it to my kindle. And e-book wise, the majority of mine are epub/mobi that I got from various kickstarters or humble bundles. But I also...

I use Kavita and I'm really happy with it. I understand your reservations about the subscription, but I'm not subscribed to the premium features because I don't need them either.

The PDF reader on it is okay, I think. I really prefer reading PDF files. I usually convert my PDF comics to cbz. But yeah, I like Kavita because it's easy and convenient.

How do you read novels?

These past few months I've come back to reading novels for the first time, really, since I was a kid. I just read them an alternative to scrolling, though, so I don't really pay much attention. When I sit down to watch a film, I try to make sure my mind is clear, my environment is undistracting, and I try to watch observantly...

I need absolute quiet to read and it's taxing for me to read for long periods of time. However, I'm more an audio person, so I mostly listen to books, and if given the opportunity, I could listen to books all day.

I'm a skeptic to all things supernatural/paranormal, but I would not get anywhere near that doll

rei ,
@rei@piefed.social avatar

Yeah I figured (as is a lot of businesses making a buck off of supernatural/paranormal attractions) but the look of it so off-putting, so mission accomplished with the aesthetic

I'm listening to The Demon-Haunted World by Carl Sagan and Poor Things by Alasdair Gray
