@mullvadnet it's at times like this I play CONFLICT's UNGOVERNABLE FORCE album; the one with the riot cop pointing a rubber- bullet launcher at the camera on the cover.
The ruling class and their puppets are signaling, "this is how things are, these are the tough draconian homicidal decisions we will need to 'have the courage' to make during the climate collapse, and all of you are expendable."
Gaza is an experimental crucible for what's coming.

Those who have the job of forcing the rest of us to do what is expected of us by the wealthy shouldn't be called police. For the sake of truth they should be called overseers. #ACAB
#Update: A $2,000 speeding fine for a police officer who hit and seriously injured Dennis Hunter on East Hastings Street doesn’t reflect the seriousness of his injuries, say his advocates and friends.
Another bad guy with a gun killed a good guy with a gun. If neither had guns, the good guy would still be alive.
The bad guy with a gun was in lawful possession of the weapon that is meant for killing another human being. That's what the bad guy with the gun was doing, hunting for a Black man. He even has a hunting permit. It's called a police badge.

After Raids, #NYPD Denied Student #Protesters Water and Food in Jail
Two college protesters were placed in solitary confinement, according to Columbia professors who worked in real time to support jailed #students.

"Students arrested during the police crackdown on protests at universities in New York City last week were denied water and food for 16 hours, according to two faculty members at #ColumbiaUniversity’s #BarnardCollege who collected reports from students who were inside.
"Other students reported that they were beaten by New York City Police Department officers after their arrests and taken to the hospital for injuries before being returned to central booking. Photos of the injuries were provided to The Intercept.
"Police arrested 282 protesters at Columbia University and the #CityCollege of New York. According to the professors, they ended up at one of two jails downtown: NYPD headquarters or the Manhattan Criminal Courthouse.
"'The conditions we’re hearing about are inhumane. They take away the dignity of every person in there.'
"Students arrested during the crackdown said at least two of them were put in solitary confinement for three hours and others reported much longer stays, according to Barnard College professor #ShayoniMitra and a tenured faculty member who asked for anonymity to protect their livelihood. The faculty members were working to support jailed students. (The NYPD did not immediately respond to a request for comment.)
"Other students reported that they were held in mouse-infested cells, along with the general population of the jail. The students told the professors that they weren’t given water or food for 16 hours and that at least one student was left without shoes for the same period of time.
"'The conditions we’re hearing about are inhumane,' Mitra told The Intercept. 'They take away the dignity of every person in there.'
"Police forces and state troopers raided university protests at dozens of campuses across the country last week. Nationwide, police have arrested more than 2,500 people, according to an arrest tracker from The Appeal."
Salt Lake City Mayor Erin Mendenhall released her proposed 2024-2025 budget and, unsurprisingly, it contains a massive increase to the SLCPD budget.
Over this last year SLCPD has harassed homeless folk, evicted tenants, beaten university students, and killed community members (most recently Cameron Cloward).
Mendenhall and the SLC council not only allow this, they actively endorse it and are working to EXPAND THE VIOLENCE with another $9,024,644
These 'leaders' have no ideas, or intentions, of building a future that isn't rife with police violence. Over the next year SLCPD WILL kill more community members, and when they do we must remember that these politicians MADE THAT HAPPEN. Don't fall for their crocodile tears...
Seen the rubble, the buildings,
the mothers and the children
And all the men that you murdered,
and then we see how you spin it... https://yewtu.be/watch?v=fgDQyFeBBIo
#DartmouthCollege professor arrested during protest: 'It's really shameful
'
Story by Hannah Cotter
5/2/2024
"Video captured by News 9 showed the moment #Orleck was arrested by police during the protest. She said she was among a handful of professors who showed up to support students at what she called a peaceful protest until law enforcement arrived in #RiotGear.
"'And it's really shameful in a sleepy little campus, in a rural area like Dartmouth, that they brought in this ridiculous show of arms and strength and violence,' she said.
"She also wanted to address Gov. #ChrisSununu calling the protests against the war in #Gaza#antisemitic. She said she's a #Jewish woman and did not feel safe after last night's police response.
"'As a Jewish woman of an age that I grew up in a neighborhood full of #Holocaust survivors and knew Holocaust survivors, I have to say that I think this is disingenuous,' she said. 'It's a weaponizing of #antisemitism for their own #political purposes, which is to #SuppressDissent. And if, in fact, as the governor and the college president said, the point is to make the campus safer for the Jewish community members, I have to say that what happened next made it decidedly less safe for all of us.'
"Orleck, who has been a professor at Dartmouth for more than three decades, said as part of her bail condition, she is being banned from Dartmouth's campus. She said her emails to the institution have gone unanswered."
@ciggysmokebringer I've seen local cops do some really dumb things at protests and building occupations over the years, but having been in the middle of the nyc antiwar action as a teen in the 60s, including a few days at the OG Columbia occupation, I have to say... The nypd's tac pigs have gone braindead. I saw a pic of some on a ladder entering a Columbia building in short sleeves. SHORT SLEEVES! 😂 @faab64@palestine
#UCIrvine below, and a message for #acab everywhere in the US
The conservative event seemed to have over sold their tickets and turned away hundreds of scorned attendees wearing MAGA hats and waving Trump flags.
Right as people thought the crowd of scorned conservatives might find their way to the Palestine protest a pro-Palestine march from the light rail station concluded at the university camp, bringing even more energy!
COVID killed people in prisons at disproportionately higher rates, and has been the leading cause of US police deaths over the last few years. Yet, police officers are ripping masks off protestors.
Students resisted the cops all night and well into the morning. Earlier this morning (about 4hours ago) students continued to block the buses full of arrested protesters and face off against cops STILL firing beanbags from shotguns and flash bang grenades.
So..It’s time for a change…
Raise your voice to the air
It’s time for a change
Revolution is here
This is our song,
our rights now expressed
There’s power in our voice
There’s strength in our words
When the whole world is silent,
Our voice must be heard.
This is our song #Revolution is set
