@kuketzblog Ich war lange Zeit bei #Signal. Ein wirklich toller Messenger. Bin nebenbei auch mal bei #Matrix gewesen. Dank der lieben Person @Noriya die ich hier auf #TroetCafe kennengelernt habe, bin ich allerdings mittlerweile auf ein Projekt namens #SimpleX aufmerksam geworden und ich bin seitdem bereits da unterwegs. M.E. ist @simplex die Lösung mit den meisten grünen Feldern. Wer also auf eine Nutzung im Web Browser verzichten kann und #InstantMessaging primär auf dem #Smartphone (und wenn auf dem Desktop, dann im selben Netzwerk wie das Smartphone) verwendet, der könnte auf diesen privatsphärefreundlichen und #PostQuantum sicheren #Messenger wechseln. 🙃
Unconfirmed: The Jia Tan persona may have chatted with #xz's Lasse Collin primarily over #Signal, as opposed to IRC or some other medium. It is probably impossible to read much into that if true, and may be impossible to ever deduce much about this story from it, but if confirmed, this would be a useful bit of information.

We can't wait for people to move to Linux: we have to help them. I've managed to move two family members and one friend to #Linux. I've got maybe a dozen people regularly using #Signal because I refused to use #WhatsApp and wasn't afraid to explain why. I've migrated at least three people from #Chrome to #Firefox.
IMHO, allowing Fedi to become a small curiosity on the outskirts of #Threads would be our death knell. We mustn't underestimate how evil #Meta is. They don't tolerate competition, they don't play fair, and they don't care how much damage they do as long as it makes money or entrenches their hegemony.

Telegram is offering a new way to earn a premium subscription free of charge: all you have to do is volunteer your phone number to relay one-time passwords (OTP) to other users. This, in fact, sounds like an awful idea — particularly for a messaging service based around privacy.
