There are many things I love to talk about but I particularly enjoy talking about Nintendo, JRPGs and Anime.
I've been kinda simmering over an interaction I had like 4-5 years ago. I said I'd like to see a mainline Legend Of Zelda game where you play as Zelda. I got jumped (figuratively) by a few guys who didn't see the point, it's always been Link, and they didn't want it.
So, me, significantly more insecure, trying to be friendly, discussed it with them and we got to a point where it'd be ok if there was at least a choice between Link and Zelda.

These fucking babyass shriveldicks can cope for one damn game where they're not catered to. I don't want a choice. I want a game that Link is fucking dead. D-E-D, Dead. It's all up to Zelda. We've had to put up with lifetimes of male as default, taking in media that centers around men. I'm tired of the consolation prize of "Well, we'll add a gender selection for you". Why is it always (hyperbole for effect) male character, or a choice?
You can deal with one game that's not all about serving you.

#GenshinImpact is very pretty and always gives me FOMO surrounded by people playing it, but every time I revisit and play it I honestly feel lost lol. And while it's really fun for the most part, my expectations perhaps got set a lil too high for it (due to the pretty visuals, and popularity) so when I encounter some jankiness in certain elements of gameplay, it feels a bit jarring. The mechanics feel like it could be as fluid as #NierAutomata or as polished as #Zelda#BOTW/#TOTK, but it's not. It's not all bad though, I'd say 80-90% of it is great - esp considering that it's free (so far at least for me, not sure if the later parts of the game would require/incentivise you to spend any money).
Talking about the #Zelda movie. I know I'm excited, that's for sure. I also know I'm disappointed and worried, because it's a live action. It will probably have a bunch of white folks or westerners in general which I'm gonna loathe (I'll only accept and welcome Black/Brown people acting as the people of Gerudo which includes Ganon because that'd ACTUALLY fit).
but ofc the biggest concern is with Link himself. One thing I hadn't considered is if the movie was about Child Link, and honestly, I might still be able to accept a live action Link IF he was Child Link acted by an unknown child actor - that might actually work. Because it's Avi Arad as the producer people are theorising that it could be Tom Holland as Link and nothing could be a worse fit than that. Link should be acted by an unknown actor, bare minimum. Some are saying if it was done #HarryPotter style (unknown child actors), it could work and I agree.
Link is the most beautiful man I've ever seen, who does not even speak in all of his games that it's literally an impossible task for any real human being. A #StudioGhibli Zelda movie still is my (impossible) dream, but a nobody, a child nobody, as Link might work.
