Mesmerising microbes: bacteria as you’ve never seen it before – in pictures
“As a side hustle he manipulates and photographs the microbial world; his images are collected in a book, Beautiful Bacteria. Taking bacteria from substances such as wastewater, dental plaque or kimchi, Danino lets them multiply in a petri dish, adding dyes. The results are artworks differing from the digital enhancements often made in scientific photography to make images more informative.”

Some time ago at an estate sale, a man was selling an old Victorian-era photo in a very nice frame. I asked him why he was selling a photo of his Great-Grandparents, when the buyer would only throw away the photo & use the frame.
He hadn't realized they were related!
I could date the photo based on their clothes & an early automobile in the photo. Then I extrapolated the number of generations. The family resemblance between them was undeniable. (I didn't want to say it to him, but both he & the man in the photo had the same huge ears & crooked noses.)
He grabbed the photo from the sales table & tucked it safely away.
Anyone can find a name for people in old #photos. If you have a very old photo, chances are they're your relatives. And chances are that you too can use simple logic, google, and photo dating techniques to figure out who they are.
