Israeli Settlers Torch Cars in West Bank Village, Raid Truck Carrying Aid for Gaza
Dozens of settlers entered the Palestinian village of Yatma, south of Nablus, and set tires and cars on fire on Sunday, before proceeding to the Tapuah Junction in the northern West Bank, two security sources said.
Earlier Sunday, dozens of Israelis gathered at the Tapuah and Yatma junctions and threw stones at Palestinians, the security sources added. Several of them, including children, blocked a road in the area.
Traffic between Tapuah and the West Bank settlement of Eviatar, meanwhile, was blocked in both directions. Dozens of other Israelis simultaneously gathered in the area around Eviatar, stopping a Palestinian truck and damaging the equipment it was carrying. The rioters claimed that the truck was delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza.
Security sources said Border Police dispersed the rioters and arrested four in all the incidents. Earlier, activists against the transfer of aid to the Gaza Strip took goods out of trucks in the Lakish Junction area and destroyed the contents.
On Friday, settlers attacked a truck driver near the settlement of Kochav Hashar in the central West Bank, believing that he was delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza. Later, reservists who were called to the scene and tried to treat the driver were beaten by the rioters, according to a security source. The driver was moderately injured, and two officers and a soldier were slightly injured. There were no arrests in the incident.
"The sanctions, which are the first to specifically target extremist Israeli settlers, impose a prohibition on dealings related to the listed individuals and render them inadmissible to Canada under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. The four individuals named in the sanctions are David Chai Chasdai, Yinon Levi, Zvi Bar Yosef and Moshe Sharvit."
A Palestinian man from Hebron: "Sometimes we use donkeys to transfer sick people to the hospital or to the clinic. There hasn't been transportation in this area for a long time. Even if there is a car to drop us off at any clinic, the Israeli army confiscates the cars.”
An account of how dire life has become in the West Bank. Pure systemic occupier evil.
Is the New York Times trying to be more balanced in its coverage of Israel-Palestine issues? If so, that’s a welcome shift. A very good article that states facts about settler violence and impunity in #westbank@palestine@israel
"Such beauty! This is what happens to whoever brings food to Hamas" Judeonazi settlers in West Bank blocked two Palestinian trucks, claiming they carry Gaza aid, threw rocks at the drivers, wounding one of them, and destroyed goods. No arrests were made. State-backed terrorists. https://x.com/ireallyhateyou/status/1790807200933318876
The Palestinian Prisoners’ Club says the number of female prisoners “administratively” detained by Israel has risen to 25.
So-called administrative detainees are arrested on “secret evidence”, unaware of the accusations against them, and are not allowed to defend themselves in court. They are usually held for renewable six-month periods that often lead to years in detention.
Among the administratively detained female prisoners are four female journalists and a lawyer.
Israelis continue to set fire to Palestinian villages in the West Bank while the IDF intensify their bombardment of #Gaza, and fire on #Rafah. Would the White House like a definition of genocide without too many big words?
Settlers mobs south of #AlKhalil in the #WestBank set fire to the aid trucks that they stopped and damaged this afternoon, which were loaded with aid and headed to the #Gaza Strip.
No sign of Israeli police of IDF to protect the convoy or stop the terrorists settlers from destroying aid packages, mostly baby formula, diapers and medical equipment.
"What is taking place in occupied Palestine is not a conflict between more or less equals"
It is "a straightforward case of illegal military occupation, apartheid, ethnic cleansing & outright genocide by one, heavily-armed side — Israel — against the largely unarmed other, the Palestinians."
"If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor."
~Desmond Tutu.
@jopy@DrALJONES@palestine@israel May I point out that the Oslo Accords were intended to establish self-Govt & lead to the creation of a Palestinian State. But NO self-Govt has ever been established, other perhaps than in #Gaza with #Hamas. In the #WestBank, #Fatah acts as an Israeli auxilliary, a kapo, policing the Palestinians on behalf of Israel.
