@GottaLaff NFL It seems to me that the question is not whether they broke a campaign finance law, but whether they were concerned that they had so they found a way to cover it up. The crime is the cover up. The crime is that they falsified documents because THEY believed they had broken the law. Otherwise, why not be up front and let the chips fall where they may?

What a bunch of B.S. While I'm not a "vision scientist" I did spend over 20 years working with children and adults in the correction and treatment of refractive errors. The last one of these "studies" tried to prove that children who sit too close to a TV will become farsighted; another myth. The size of the human eye is predetermined by DNA. Things that cause a change are trauma, disease and surgery. Playing outdoors more often will not prevent the need for corrective lenses

@GottaLaff Well that sounds like my state of Nevada where mail in ballots must be postmarked by midnight on Election Day, but can be counted if recv'd W/I 4 days.

Now consider-Louis DeJoy, remember him, has decided that the main USPS distribution ctr located in Reno will be moved to Sacramento, CA b4 Election Day. That means ballots mailed in Reno & northern cities in NV will go to Sacramento 1st then returned to Reno for delivery slowing it a lot. Caveat - Northern NV is heavy w/GOP voters

    A story about my mom and Trump.

    My mom was an executive assistant for two Jewish brothers who ran a construction company in the '80s. They were in competition with Trump on some real estate deal and lost out to him. For some reason they had to make a pilgrimage to Trump Tower to go on bended knee. When one of the brothers introduced mom, Trump his usual graceful manner said, “Which one of these two Jews did you have fuck to get your job?”.

    @w7voa If I learn that Biden decides to share nat'l intelligence w/Trump after denying it for all the best reasons, he will have lost my vote. I don't care what anyone says. If Biden starts sharing intelligence w/Trump, Trump will use it illegally & it will end democracy as we know it.

    Don't tell me how it's the "norm". Biden & DOJ adhering to norms is a big reason we're facing Trump now. There are times for regular order & there are times to set new norms in order to protect the country.

    I still can't believe that many really intelligent people are taken aback by the behavior of . 6 of 9 are Federalist Society. Their appointments to the court are the culmination of more than 40 yrs of patience by the GOP. Trump didn't do "this". Trump is a tool. A means to an end

    But what conservatives have miscalculated is doesn't care about their agenda. He only cares about himself. If he gets back in office, he will dispose of them, Congress & the judiciary using the military

    @w7voa This is another good example of why states should not have the right to make laws that only affect the residents of their given state.

    Marijuana use, recreational and medical, is legal in Nevada where I live. It makes no sense that I can't travel across certain state lines with a substance that is legal in my home state.

    Two of the Arizona Supreme Court justices who voted to reimpose the state's 1864 abortion law will be up for retention in November.

    I’m learning about brain zaps - they feel like electric shocks in your brain. They are a lovely side effect [yes, that is sarcasm] of stopping venlafaxine (effexor) before trying a different antidepressant for preventing chronic migraine.

    I also feel like I just got hit by a truck and every inch of my body hurts.

    tbh - I am now afraid of trying the new antidepressant (nortriptyline).

    Suggestions via your personal experience welcome (no mansplaining)

    @CuriousMagpie @actuallyautistic I was prescribed venlafaxine for bipolar disorder. I was taking trazodone at the same time. Bipolar disorder can cause folks to do all sorts of irrational things. Venlafaxine caused me to feel "numb". I wasn't depressed anymore. I didn't feel anything, which was worse. So in the midst of a manic episode, I made the choice to stop all my meds at the same time. I wouldn't recommended it. That said, please don't be afraid to try a new med that may be the answer. 🍀

    @CuriousMagpie @actuallyautistic When I stopped all my meds cold turkey, it was less a choice and more a sign of an acceleration of my illness at the time. I had never done it before, and haven't done it since. My medications were being prescribed by the "doctor of the day" from the state run mental health clinics where I had moved from and the state where I had moved to. There was no continuity of care & no outreach from one provider to the next. It was a bad situation. I don't advise trying it

    @CuriousMagpie @actuallyautistic Not long after that episode I connected with the doctor I have now. That was 8 years ago. After a couple of med trials, we settled on my current treatment, and I have remained stable. Trial and error can be scary and frustrating, but with the right medical support it can work out. Persevere.

    @CuriousMagpie @actuallyautistic Unfortunately, some docs think antidepressants are the answer for everything. I discovered they were actually exacerbating my symptoms & CAUSING me to flip from depression to mania. Once I stopped taking them & focused on treating mania, my life changed. However, many, if not most, drugs have undesirable SE so I had to accept the trade off. Find a doc who's experienced w/meds, who you can trust & be 100% honest. Tho they try, there's no cookie cutter trtmt. 🙂

    @CuriousMagpie @actuallyautistic I want to say, I am NOT suggesting anyone stop using their antidepressant med or any other prescribed medication(s) w/o consulting their physician(s). These are powerful drugs, and shouldn't be used or discontinued without supervision. When I stopped my medication, I was in a crisis.

    My experience is just that - my experience & everyone is different.

    It took me a long time to find a doctor who would listen to me & respond accordingly. Be your best advocate.

    @CuriousMagpie @actuallyautistic I didn't think so, but after I read my posts, I thought I should say something. I'm not a doctor. I'm just a patient. I try to help others by sharing my own experience. I didn't have anyone who could help me navigate a system that's really difficult for most of us. I'm glad I said something useful. I've found that doctors are usually in a hurry to get us out of their office rather than listen to us. Sometimes our best information comes from each other. 🙂

The fact that Trump was having trouble raising the full amount would ordinarily, I'd think, argue AGAINST reducing the bond, since it suggests his assets are stressed and might not be available if the judgement is ultimately upheld.

    @mattblaze The whole purpose of a bond is to guarantee at least two things 1) the defendant continues to participate in the court proceedings 2) the judgment gets paid at the end of litigation

    The in DC, New York, Georgia and Florida have proven time and again since the first indictment was filed, that the process is, indeed, . Rulings like the one this morning to lower 's bond requirement is reinforcement of that conclusion & additionally inspires "good" judges to leave
