What would you recommend? My laptop from 2012 has finally given up (battery).

I don't care much about performance or gaming, but longevity and repairability is a huge pro. And it needs to be able to run .

Unfortunately Framework don't sell to Sweden yet, otherwise that would be a strong contender.

How many hours a day do you spend staring at a screen? How much do these black mirrors dominate our attention?

Boost for reach 🚀

Any screen counts; computer monitor, laptop, phone, TV, smartwatch, timetable at the train station, etc.

Count total time spent with eyeballs pointed at it.

Dear friends, I’m trying to install Linux in an A451U , and so far, I’ve not been able to do that. I’m posting a photo of the errors I get, and I’d like to ask you if you can help me understand if there’s some sort of hardware issue with it. Thanks!

Did you ever believe that Hunter Biden took a full of incriminating information into a computer repair shop and abandoned it there? That the repair shop decided to examine its contents and transmit them to Rudy Giuliani and Steve Bannon?

Of course not. Because you have more common sense than reporters and editors at every major news organization.

The whole thing was a Russian disinformation op, in partnership with the GOP. And it's ongoing. Where's the press?

I'm looking to assemble a cheap, smooth experience for an older person. The budget is smol: somewhere around 400-450 USD/EUR.

They want a bigger screen and don't have much space on their desk. Primary use: chopping FHD dashcam videos and audio CD burning.

I'm thinking 4-core Intel + 21" FHD display (used). USB burners are cheap from what I can tell.

Couldn't find a sensible 16/17" within that price range.

Any recommendations or (bad?) experiences with NUCs?

Now, there's a reason for this: back to work/school always means it's bag season. So this is the first one I have for you today. It's more practical than stylish, but I have a few practical bags myself so here you go!

End of a personal era: I am trading in my trusty MacBook Pro 2016, with the result being the first time since the 1980s I haven’t had access to a . First one was a Zenith 183, which weighed a ton and had a steel handle. My work travel has decreased a lot since I’ve (semi) retired, and what there is can all be handled on an iPad Pro. Feels kinda weird, but that’s change for you.

So turns out I am probably going to need a work laptop. I am however, now living in Thailand and really want to stick with familiarity and use an Australian layout keyboard. Import tax on this would be huge... So... Anyone know how to work the system to get an Aussie laptop in and NOT have to pay crazy fees on top? Ideally not a second hand one (I know could probably get one of those on forums/markets) Any @edutooters got ideas?

She's over 80, but knows her way around Word and Publisher, can do email and online shopping. Those are her main needs in a laptop.
