The new Pixelfed mobile app will preserve media aspect ratios, no need to tap to view the full image as photos will be rendered to preserve native aspect ratios😎
I think I've missed a setting somewhere, is there a place in the current Android App to show the full image in-feed (without clicking), or is that coming down the line in the future? 🤔
Noticed today that some of the tight frames, or especially tall/long shots, get 'cropped' in the feed-view - although are still fully intact if you click on them .
If this is necessary for app limitations, could we have an icon display in the corner as an indicator to "click for full view" ?
I don't fully understand the point of Pixelfed. I've used it a couple times, but always end up abandoning it. I like the pictures, but I can just view them here on Mastodon. I was even following most of the same accounts since it's all federated anyway.
There are clients for Mastodon with gallery views and you can set feeds to media only. Pixelfed felt entirely redundant to me, and I couldn't find a use case.
