@itsfoss a non-memorable one. Had a bunch of issues with the display, keyboard, fan noise, standy and started researching on how to fix them, feeling all nerdy and pro.

Then I just switched to a newer kernel version and it fixed everything. Simply a driver issue.

Point being: if you get a new laptop, consider installing a new kernel version, before putting in too much manual effort.

Hi @frameworkcomputer! Thanks for the reminder email about BIOS update because !

I tried to update the Framework 13 AMD according to the help page and it does not work. :blobcatsadpats:

I get an "update progess: completed" from H2OFFT but then the screen goes black, device stays powered on but is unresponsive. I forced a shutdown (hold power button) after 2 hours. On booting again I get "Update Failed! EFI Error Code 2, Decompress failed!"

Any pointers?

@EU_Commission It's great to finally have a two way communication channel!

I would like to see more on independence from tech giants and privacy + security by design. Less of those weird proposals of scanning everyone's (encrypted) communications. Also everything climate action is welcome!

@tagesschau ist doch die gleiche Soße wie bei der Letzten Generation. Die verschulden einen Minianteil an allen Staus und alle nörgeln. Bahn seit Jahren kaputt gespart und managergehaltet und jetzt sollen Streiks böse sein? Smh

@juergen_hubert just a small addendum to the Guardian article. It speaks of more than 100.000 people attending the anti-rightwing protests. In fact only on Saturday Jan 20, police recorded more than 250.000

"Heat pumps don't work in the cold"

Context: This is data from my mom and dad's new cold climate heat pump. While the system has been calling for heat continuously during this time, it has only needed to kick on the backup resistive heating in the deepest of cold, and even then only for a couple of hours overnight.

For those of you who speak metric, -13°F is -25°C, and their desired setpoint is 21°C

@TechConnectify thanks for sharing the graph! I always use Norway as an example. For sure a rather cold country, nevertheless roughly 2/3 of households use heat pumps. In Sweden and Finland the share is less but still substantial with high growth rates in Finland which is even colder than Norway.
