How do you think electricity gets made for your electric car?

There are clean forms of energy generation.

Joke or serious? It's sad that lately it's hard to tell the difference on some topics.

TL;DR:

"California wildfires aren’t the only thing killing the state’s majestic giant sequoia trees. So is a little-known bark beetle"

I think a lot of the bigger instances defederated with hexbear. Not sure where the .mls are

Are you not familiar with how The_Donald operated or how r/Conservative still operates? There are plenty of subreddits that censor any and all dissenting viewpoints. It happens here too, but I think Reddit's much worse.

irreticent ,

Is that true? I didn't hear about that. Please provide a reputable source as proof.

Expand what?

Alito's O-ring.

It's like those Russian nesting dolls, but it's nesting diapers.

he was legitimately voted into office as the President

...by the electoral college. Remember, he lost the popular vote.

TL;DR for those who hate clickbait:

KRON4 meteorologist Dave Spahr said the cause of the out-of-the-park reactions is twofold. First is the recent weather: late-season rains followed by bright sun. “Everything is growing like crazy,” he said.

The second piece is that the atmosphere is not flushing out the high pollen counts produced by the combination of heavy rain and shining sun. “We’ve had local winds but not synoptic ones,” he said, referring to regional winds that create more movement. Fog alone, Spahr explained, is not enough to sweep the environment free of allergens.

They're so cute, huh? I love this video.

Do a search on YouTube for "two cats having a conversation" and you'll find a bunch of cute ones like that.

thinly sliced beef mouth

I've never heard of "beef mouth" as a cut of meat. What meat is it from? Tongue, cheek, etc...

I love beef cheek if it's cooked right. Low and slow.

irreticent ,

It could be lips, also. I have seen beef lips in one of my local carnecerias (Mexican meat market).

irreticent ,

I'm nit entirely sure but when I saw the package of meat in the grocery store it said "beef lips" and had a stringy looking meat inside. I assume it is the lower lip since the upper seems too small for what I saw.

irreticent ,

Both sides, amirite? /s

irreticent ,

This will surely improve the public perception of cops.

And the public perception of the supreme court. I've never had such a low opinion of them as I have had lately.

Chinese police were allowed into Australia to speak with a woman. They breached protocol and escorted her back to China ( www.abc.net.au )

Chinese police hunting international corruption targets were allowed into Australia by the federal police and subsequently escorted a woman back to China for trial, in a major breach of Chinese-Australian police protocols....

That would give new meaning to the phrase "eat my ass."

You asked if there were any examples other than J6. I provided examples. I don't understand your confusion.

irreticent ,

"Are you referring to Jan 6 alone or are there other examples?"

Other examples. Not good examples, you asked for "other examples." I provided other examples. Now you're trying to move the goalposts and say the examples aren't good enough?

GDPR is a specific new thing less than 10 years old and has no equivalent in US law.

That's not entirely true. California has a GDPR-like privacy law now:

"The requirements aren’t insignificant, and the fines could add up"

"This bill would enact the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018. Beginning January 1, 2020, the bill would grant a consumer a right to request a business to disclose the categories and specific pieces of personal information that it collects about the consumer, the categories of sources from which that information is collected, the business purposes for collecting or selling the information, and the categories of 3rd parties with which the information is shared. The bill would require a business to make disclosures about the information and the purposes for which it is used. The bill would grant a consumer the right to request deletion of personal information and would require the business to delete upon receipt of a verified request, as specified. The bill would grant a consumer a right to request that a business that sells the consumer’s personal information, or discloses it for a business purpose, disclose the categories of information that it collects and categories of information and the identity of 3rd parties to which the information was sold or disclosed. The bill would require a business to provide this information in response to a verifiable consumer request. The bill would authorize a consumer to opt out of the sale of personal information by a business and would prohibit the business from discriminating against the consumer for exercising this right, including by charging the consumer who opts out a different price or providing the consumer a different quality of goods or services, except if the difference is reasonably related to value provided by the consumer’s data. The bill would authorize businesses to offer financial incentives for collection of personal information. The bill would prohibit a business from selling the personal information of a consumer under 16 years of age, unless affirmatively authorized, as specified, to be referred to as the right to opt in. The bill would prescribe requirements for receiving, processing, and satisfying these requests from consumers. The bill would prescribe various definitions for its purposes and would define “personal information” with reference to a broad list of characteristics and behaviors, personal and commercial, as well as inferences drawn from this information. The bill would prohibit the provisions described above from restricting the ability of the business to comply with federal, state, or local laws, among other things."

As someone who is aging. Late thirties. How can I keep my finger on the pulse of current trends, particularly in music?

As an example. I grew up in hip-hop but at a certain point I stopped listening to new people and realised recently that I’d slept on some bangers. Like Kendrick particularly, but even people like Juice WRLD and Xxxtentacion....

Wild turkeys can be very aggressive.

Peacocks. Where I live (central California) there is a local park that has a flock of wild peacocks. I had a friend visiting from Korea and he was so excited to see them.

There is one here too!

r/The_Donald helped radicalize users into far-right identities and discourse – Active users on r/The_Donald increasingly used white nationalist vocabularies in their comments within three months. ( journals.sagepub.com )

I know most people that were on reddit at the time are fully aware of this and won't be surprised but don't dismiss the findings out of hand. It's important that studies are being conducted and the fact that the finding match our lived experience is still noteworthy.

Fellas, fellas... I think we can all agree that you're both just terrible.

irreticent ,

You can't make a claim like that without elaborating why you think it's misinormation [SIC].

irreticent ,

He's probably being downvoted because his argument seems too similar to the flawed argument that women should have their clothing choices restricted because some men can't control themselves. It seems like a form of victim blaming/punishing.
