@pixelcats Yep! There is so much more in the music industry of each country beyond the “idols”. And there are also a lot of former idols who we haven't heard from… as an “idol”… that are actually still actively singing.
I wish more people expand beyond the idol industry. It's a good starting base, especially if a foreign music industry (and language). But there are so much more beyond it.
If you have not heard of them yet, they were formed on 2024-01-17 out of the talent search survival show #UniverseTicket. There are 8 members from three countries:
"Light of My Life" - Chen, from his first Japanese solo album. The slow build of this is delicious, and the music video is quite apt. #jpop#kpop#CHEN#EXO
"Get Lit" by Stray Kids
For Winter Solstice, the chorus saying "whether tomorrow comes or not... we're not gonna die young" just feels apropos. A fun, upbeat, start-the-party song #kpop#StrayKids
@youronlyone there's #KpopMonday which starts at roughly midnight Korean time every Monday with a weekly theme. If there's another dedicated Kpop weekly running, I can't think of it right now.
@EllenInEdmonton Hmm… If that is the case, you should continue watching. It depicts the problem of deaf people in that period of Korea, and in a way, to this day from most of the world. It shows the struggles of his mother and the discrimination, prejudice, and misunderstanding, and her future husband (and son) were key.
