As I mentioned, courtroom rules strictly enforced. During sidebar, court security doesn't allow reporters to use binoculars they had brought to see exhibits and facial expressions better
A #juror was quickly dismissed at the start. She was among the 7 already selected, she said she was very worried that despite the fact the court ruled to keep jurors’ name secret, she would still be exposed & targeted.
It’s probably safe to say that few, if any, judges have had to deal w/the array of #threats to #their trial that Justice #Merchan has had to. Besides #Trump himself, who constantly tests the boundaries of his #GagOrder, there are his allies who attacking the judge & his family & who aren’t covered by the gag order. Then there’s the #media who has been putting potentially identifying info about prospective #jurors on TV.
The criminal defendant disseminated on social media on Friday an image of President Biden with his hands and feet tied and his mouth gagged, the latest example of the Republican candidate’s use of increasingly violent words and imagery.
"I know from experience how the Secret Service interacts with people who make threats against #POTUS, even ones they can't carry out. This, from a former President, is totally out of bounds. It's time to stop letting Trump break the rules. Long past time."

But today, I get a message from one of them applying for a DHS grant for security wanting my help with the grant application. They wanted my stories of the abuse and threats to help them apply. Almost told them to take a flying leap.

I learned from Reuters @LindaSoReports, they DON'T WANT TO GET INVOLVED. Why? Because they'd have to make decisions about what's protected "Political speech" & what is not. #DoJ has filed a motion for a PROTECTIVE ORDER in the t**** #coup case based on donald’s social media posts. DoJ argues that improper dissemination of evidence could have a chilling effect on witnesses.
