Are you a foreigner visiting the this week, or already here?

Starting tomorrow, Thursday and up to Sunday, it is a holiday in the entire country. It is what and call “Holy Week”.

  • Maundy Thursday
  • Good Friday
  • Black Saturday
  • Easter Sunday

What to expect:

  1. Thursday to Saturday: malls, and most restaurants and fast foods, and other establishments, will be closed.

Some establishments in and around tourist spots may choose to operate, but in a limited capacity, so please be patient.

If you need to buy something, your best bet are convenient stores, as some branches remain open. But more likely with limited hours (and supply).

  1. Train operations will be closed for 3 (sometimes 4) days.

  2. Regular public transportation will be limited.

  3. Buses are fully-booked because of Filipinos travelling back to their provinces.

Don't be surprised if you find a lot of establishments closed and the towns are like ghost towns.

    Two Christian women, an elderly mother and her daughter, were shot dead by an Israeli sniper on the grounds of a Catholic church in Gaza City, the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem has said. Seven more people were injured trying to save them.

    Palestinian Christian leaders travel to DC to push for ceasefire

    Buy it if you can afford it, but this information is too important not to be free of charge. Other good books are available.

    Just found out that the Southern Baptist Convention has not just removed Rick Warren's Saddleback church and has knuckled down on forbidding women from being pastors.

    I never really understood their vehemence against women pastors. Just glad I am not emeshed in church culture.

    Speaking as a Christian but ex-, I think argue about the stupidest things & forget about what they are really supposed to do.
