Caliphate protests in Hamburg: What is Muslim Interactive?

If I could yell a rave #Book review from the rooftops it would probably be about Roy Mottahedeh's "Mantle of the Prophet." It's both a personal biography of a #Mullah and a general history of #Iran ancient and modern.
I don't know how Mottahedeh achieved the intense level of detail in his physical descriptions. He himself did not grow up or spend a ton of time in Iran. And his primary biographical subject was speaking to him as a middle-aged man, with childhood memories decades in the past. But I believe he relayed the personal account honestly, without fabrication, and the same goes for his interview subjects.
I bought a copy nearly 40 years ago and my blinkered USian twentysomething brain couldn't get past go with it. This despite several Islamic history courses which I'd enjoyed immensely, including a seminar on #Persia.
58 year old me is relishing every word. Probably helps to be #Muslim.
Peace be upon him, who seeks truth and expresses belief in God and in His Prophet and testifies that there are no gods but one God whom has no partners, and who believes that Muhammad is His servant and Prophet. Under the Command of God, I invite you to Him. He has sent me for the guidance of all people so that I may warn them all of His wrath and may present the unbelievers with an ultimatum.

Southeast Asian Muslims also retain the practice of cemetery caretaking without necessarily framing it as ancestor worship. As such, there are some customs we do for the dead that isn't always analogous elsewhere like doing the 40-day tahlil (sort of a wake 40 days after death) but since it's in keeping with the Islamic practice of respecting your elders and maintaining familial relations, there's historical and cultural continuity.
As such, while it doesn't have the force of religious law, Muslims here tend to visit family graves on Eid (usual al-Fitr but also al-Adha) to clean, and pray over the dead. But we don't have family plots so one fact about city Muslims these days is since the system is first-come-first-served, you likely have to visit multiple cemeteries to get to all of your family.
Meta has "substantively and disproportionately" restricted free speech through a blanket ban on content that uses the term "shaheed," which can be a reference to Islamic martyrs, Meta's independent Oversight Board said in a ruling released Tuesday.
#Zionism / On the Right-Wing Government and Zionism's Dependence on Antisemitism
When the Zionist movement decided to establish a home for Eastern European Jews in Palestine, they brought European #antisemitism with them, making it a problem for the Palestinians as well. Antisemitism is the bread and butter of the Zionist movement. It’s the reason Israel was created and the reason it still is very much a Zionist project, and not a normal state.
Roy Yahav, argues that antisemitism was not only the reason for the establishment of Israel as a Zionist state, but also continues to sustain its existence. He contends that any criticism of Israel's actions, such as the occupation of Palestinians and the current war in Gaza, is labeled as antisemitism by pro-Zionist voices. But by conflating criticism with antisemitism and falsely claiming to represent all Jews worldwide, Israel is ironically increasing the danger of antiemitism.
Take for example the "antisemitic Zionism" which is embraced by neo-Nazis and white supremacists who support a Zionist state to rid white Europe/America of Jews, who they see as a "Western wall" against #Islam. Indeed , Israel's staunchest supporters today, including those close to Netanyahu (who’s currently conducting the Gaza atrocities), are the same far-right extremists perpetuating antisemitic ideologies that originally led to Zionism's rise.
Yahav calls for recognizing this reality and opposing Israel's self-serving definitions. He argues that Israel does not represent all Jews, many Jews oppose its actions (and not, they’re not self-hating Jews). Opposing Zionism's path to destruction is not antisemitic but a fight against antisemitism itself. The real struggle, he states, is for equality and partnership between all peoples from the Jordan to the Mediterranean.
Hey monotheistic #religious people, does your conception of #God ever give you an emotional feeling of safety? I'm asking specifically about the psychological effect here.

The first victory achieved by America and Britain is the removal of blue checks from the [Twitter] accounts of state leaders in Sana'a. As for the [Yemeni] Armed Forces, rockets, drones, and all military capabilities, they have not reached them.
It turns out America is a force that should not be underestimated, brothers.

Ignoring #ShinBet's position, #Netanyahu accepted Ben Gvir's position to restrict the entry of Israeli Arabs to the Temple Mount during Ramadan
The Chairman of the High Follow-Up Committee for Arab citizens of Israel ( لجنة المتابعة العليا للجماهير العربية في إسرائيل), Mohammed Barakeh, told #Haaretz in reference to the discussion on restrictions on ascending the Temple Mount during #Ramadan, that Minister of National Security Itamar Ben #Gvir is trying "to organize his own private war, of which he is the general, and it is against the Arab citizens in Israel."
According to Barakeh, "to prohibit prayers and religious worship in one of the three holiest mosques in #Islam is a dangerous game."
Barakeh added that the very discussion held on the matter constitutes "a kind of declaration of war on the Palestinian citizens within Israel by the government."
