Taken in the Slovak Paradise in 2016.
This is one path through one of the many ravines. Where it’s not possible to walk next to the water or in the dried out bed, ladders and steps have been built.

Since there has been an influx of people, I should do an introductory post again.

I am Isabelle. I’m in my mid forties, I have a stressful fulltime day job, I write in my spare time, and I am learning Korean. I love talking about sex and I post the occasional (well, sometimes more than occasional).

I love , watching , and . I have an adorable little black pug who loves snuggling me.

I’m friendly and love interacting with people, so say hi!

Possibly one of my favorite photos I've ever taken. This group of friends headed out to the lighthouse from artist's point for a sunset bathed picnic!

That time Tom & I hiked straight up -- over 4000' in >3 1/2 miles -- Mount Kinabalu in (on Borneo) -- to the refugio where we spent the night before hiking back down. We did not continue at 2 the next morning to reach the summit at 14k feet.
The rain poured down so hard during the last couple of miles of the climbing that we ended up crawling, hands and feet, thru water rushing down the trail like a river. I was shattered. But I lived to tell the tale!

the jagged ridges of Mount Kinbalu in Malaysia are staggering to contemplate, and the steep ascent feels like you are going to climbing for the rest of your life.

I did two trips to the Malalotja Reserve in Swaziland. Once in the late 80s and then again in the early 90s. One wild camps in designated spots, which have to be reserved. It is real wilderness.

One walks between zebra, wildebees, and various other buck species. On my first trip's last day, I was walking on the exiting jeep track and a herd of wildebeest ran across the road, not to far behind me.

The hike today with my parents was perfect. My mom needed hiking poles for more stability, but with those she was steady as a rock. We took our time for the hike, no need for rushing.

I would like very much to become old in the way they do.

Hiked my Round Top/Gales Creek loop this morning in the Tillamook State Forest. Managed to avoid the rain showers and only saw one person, close to the end of the hike. The creek crossings are all shallow now so no issues crossing them. It almost seems like a forest of ferns in places.

Wooden bridge over a creek. Overgrown bushes and ferns on both sides of the bridge.

Any camera recommendations for making hiking videography? I'm getting by with just a cell phone and action cam. Does shelling good money on a mirrorless and long tripod make a difference?

Anniversary of the 1932 Kinder Scout mass trespass on Sunday 23 April so here's Commoners Choir with From Below. If you want more related folk songs then there's Manchester Rambler by Ewan MacColl, and the rearranged version by John Tams, and Trespassers by the Young'uns (on their album Tiny Notes on Bandcamp). And there's a short, song filled, documentary about the Kinder Scout trespass by the Young'uns with Boff Whalley on youtube. If you can't find links for any of these let me know and I'll post them.

For every footprint on the land,
For all the banners and the banned,
Should we keep to the landlord’s plans? Hell no!
‘Cos real change comes from below.
