My hot take on one of my biggest #bookish pet peeves - YA should be labeled 'Teen', not 'Young Adult'. It's extremely confusing, it's the reason why YA ends up mixed in with NA smut in stores, by definition it's unclear; Young adult means late teens to early-mid 20s, and by that definition non-readers assume 'young ADULT' means someone of age. There really needs to be a clear differentiation between NA and YA.

I definitely read the entire thing in a southern accent! Something I really enjoy is seeing authors compare different types of love in their books; love that isn't really sincere or healthy vs. love that's more genuine and true, and this book does that. Though, I will say this book won't be everyone's cup of tea...

Halfway through #LegendsandLattes by #TravisBaldree and I am pleasantly surprised how much I enjoy it! Haven't even gotten to the romance yet and the story alone has completely pulled me in and the characters are so endearing 🥰. I think I'm slowly starting to expand on the genres I enjoy. I'm excited to have found another author I think I'll easily return to again and again.
Meetup activitypub? Fediverse has so many alternatives to the major sites (mastodon, peertube, mbin, pixelfed etc) so it's good to see someone giving it a try with hosting and organizing activities
@okpierre
This is awesome! I'd love to also see someone set up a federated marketplace as well. That's a big reason why a lot of people won't leave corrupt platforms like Facebook/Meta. When your livelihood is tied to it, makes it harder to leave. If the fedi is expanding in other directions, it only makes sense it happens eventually. Would be good for other federated networks to make designated space for it that's separate though so we don't welcome ad culture taking over federated feeds.
Just finished reading #ACourtOfSilverFlames by #SarahJMaas today! I've been binging the #ACOTAR series for the past 4-5 months, and I have no idea how I'm going to be able to wait for the next one! I think 2-3 more #books are planned for the series? This one was by far my favorite though. I relate to Nesta so much. Her courage and healing journey was so inspiring to me, and she's a freaking badass! 🙌
To anyone who's read this series, any similar romantasy recommendations? 👀
Ahhhhh look what just arrived in the mail! Finally! 😍 No misprints, nothing upside down, everything seems in tact. 💀 So far it's looking like I got a good batch! 😅
