Viu Philippines, your English subtitle for the #Pdrama “What's Wrong with Secretary Kim?” S01E14 is wrong (mark 20:48). The song playing was not “To be with you” by Kim Won Shik, it is “Here With You” by #BINI.
I'm very impressed with the #Filipino adaptation of #김비서가왜그럴까 / #WhatsWrongWithSecretaryKim. Modern production style, not the old Filipino style. No overused special effects. Fun comedy too!
Feedback 1: No reason to copy the Korean pinky swear. The thumb step is a Korean culture to seal agreements. But it's fine. A good nod to the original. ^_^
Feedback 2: Seatbelts, even for passengers on the back. Shows are a good opportunity to instil the importance of seatbelts in the people's mind.
A very good thing in watching #Tagalog dubbed period #Kdrama from #Viu#Philippines is their translations are not exaggerated. Period #Pdrama by local networks are often exaggerated, or use ancient words (or they invent new ones).
What I like with some translators of #Viu and #Netflix (not #Disney, I haven't seen one yet) is they're starting to transliterate Korean names based on “Revised Romanization” or “RR”.
"Why don't people want to pay for streaming anymore?" cry the companies who split streaming into 40 different services that keep increasing in cost while randomly removing content without warning, and shoving ads into our paid services.
@Zenbuffy Exactly. They turned the OTT industry into another “me too” competition.
Instead of working with “independent” OTT services, these “me too” big names launched their own platform, which started the decline of the industry.
I, for one, will not subscribe for 10 OTT services where 8 of which there is only one show I want to watch.
In the same way, the pioneers in the OTT industry didn't give content producers / production companies a good package deal, so of course, they'll eventually do it themselves.
The only ones not really affected is Spotify; and Asian OTT services (like #Viu and #iQIYI). (Although in Korea, local OTT services are losing from foreign OTT services with a Korean service, like #Netflix and #DisneyPlus).
If the character is not LGBT, they'll change it to LGBT. If the character is LGBT, they won't dub it LGBT.
They don't provide subtitles for scenes where there are no dialogues.

A 60-minute episode in the original becomes a 20-minute episode spread to 3 to 5 days (with lots of cut scenes).
This is why, even though I've watched some of the series already in its original dub (Korean, Chinese, Japanese), I still watch the Tagalog dub of Viu OTT.
