Since this is just a mockup im working on does anyone know any CSS rule that could help me align the stuff in the sidebar? I know how to use flexbox to make it line up vertically but this is like a diagonal thing that follows what I assume will be a divs rotated edge. Any way I can do this?

Friendly reminder that XULRunner, the standalone Gecko runtime that once powered web-based applications like Songbird and that was abandoned by Mozilla Corporation has been revived and now builds atop Goanna. Mastodon Bird UI is now in version 2.0.0rc30. To this version I've been experimenting with the new 2024-03 v4.3.0-alpha.3 UI and @nileane Tangerine UI's compact header on mobile, thanks for the inspiration and shortcuts code-wise! :bunhdheart:
This version also includes some slight fixes, icons and other improvements.
The release v2.0.0 will be massive, but we're not there yet with Mastodon v4.3.0 and because I'm following the Mastodon mainline and there is no ETA, I'm taking it easy as well.
Not sure if you noticed but half the #ThreadVerse is memes. They're not my thing but I enjoyed putting together the best meme consumption experience I could.

@matthiasott do you have some hints? :ablobcathappypaws:
It really does say something about #WebDev and how it feels so bloated that I can use a text browser like this just to get rid of all the scruff and it feels revolutionary. Quite honestly, if someone were to make a modern version of this designed for Blind users I'd throw money at them so fast you couldn't blink! https://www.webbie.org.uk/webbrowser/index.htm
When I worked at Technicolor (back when that was still a thing) one of the systems engineers said that he had been responsible for a site about a prominent figure who had passed away. The site was written in PHP and on an under-provisioned server which kept failing under the new spike in traffic.
He wrote a script to fetch the index.php output, write it to an index.html file, redirected the traffic and went home.
Extracting a single channel from the #SVG#filter input is what made the following possible with little code, no text duplication whatsoever and no wrapping of individual letters in an element each.
✨ complex shadows
✨ wavy text
✨ randomly offset letters in paragraph
