Whether or not you install GNU/Linux on it today, your new will eventually lose support. Thanks to the impressive work of project (@AsahiLinux), it will not need to end up in the landfill once it does.

3°C is a political choice. Future generations will think very poorly of us.

@davidho I‘ve given some thought about how they may call us.

And I think that they will use a name we already give us: „The Consumers“ .

Only that they will mean it in a different way, in the true way. Consumers of the natural world, consumers of other species, consumers of cultures which aren’t consumers, consumers of the future.

In his book Ishmael, Daniel Quinn calls those of our culture Takers.

Figures like this one from Carbon Brief are what make me optimistic that our society is ALREADY on the path to being much greener.

This is the distribution of the fossil/non-fossil fuel mix for electricity for every half hour in a year in Britain, and it's absolutely clear that a HUGE shift away from fossil fuels is taking place.

Yes, there's lots more to do, but we are already making great progress. We just need more of the same.

After months of sorting more than 50k bricks & numerous weekends of building, my son & I finished the Millennium Falcon™ (75192) last weekend.
Made of around 7.5k colorful bricks & weighing around 13kg in total. Our greatest Lego project ever.
Out of the 7.5k bricks we had 6.5k in our stocks & ordered the rest. Believing in we reused most of the bricks we already had.

Please boost, if want to color up someone else's day! 🚀🌈
