For those following the Trump election fraud trial.

Is this really what just happened?

Trump attorney shows Cohen texts between Cohen and Schiller that do not mention the Stormy matter. The attorney then says that these texts prove Cohen did not discuss the Stormy matter in a subsequent phone call.

Missing something here? Does this make any logical sense?

He tells Trump he's about to issue his ruling, in which he will again find Trump in contempt of court.

The last thing I want to do is put you in jail, Justice Merchan says to Trump. You are the former President of the United States and possibly the next President as well.

But "going forward," he continues, "this court will have to consider jail sanctions" if necessary.

@GottaLaff I admit I've been really unsure about what would happen if Trump were to be incarcerated (and there's been a LOT of noise about how the Secret Service wouldn't "allow" it).

But now it appears the answer was simple all along: "If he needs to go to jail, we'll just figure out a way to guard him while he's in jail. No big deal."

    @samlitzinger In a world where swatting is a real thing that actually happens, it just seems obvious to not give out personal information unless you absolutely have to.

    This is a place where someone might comment on the news at one point, make a joke about an old television show later on, or provide a useless factoid about renaissance artwork. Real names don’t seem vital to any of these brief interactions.
