Hate to say it, but online shopping beats brick and mortar simply because it’s easier to get what you want.

I went to a Sport Check just now, they don’t sell laceless running shoes.

I went to Best Buy just now, they don’t sell 60” inch TV—never mind a dumb (not smart) TV.

Once again, I go with Amazon simply because it has what I’m looking for.

I do the same, however, is going down the drain, too being "enshittified" with low-value Chinese products, in contrast to at rather Western price tags.
What is still useful are the user evaluations.
After reading them, I use and price-search engines to find these products at about the same or even a lesser price.
The only real exception being when I do need something "tomorrow."
Also, some chain-stores will offer the same price as Amazon, etc.

Wow. And is not refunding this (or rather, the seller is not refunding and ebay is sticking by the seller). The seller provided "proof of delivery", which is that tracking information.

I buy tons of stuff through ebay, under the assumption that when shit like this happens, I get my money back. I guess if that's no longer true, I'm no longer an ebay customer.

I brought this back in 2017 ish on .. it was one of those “ after sales “ they had. I strongly suggest it hit up eBay after for any vendor who are marking their inventory down. You might find something that’s near & dear to your heart.

It is no longer possible to avoid, Amazon.

Shop on eBay? It's coming from an Amazon warehouse.

Shop on Walmart? Yep, you will encounter Amazon sold items there too.

Pick a random 3rd party website? You guessed it, Amazon also.

I do not know how you avoid Amazon anymore.

@Norobiik LOL. They should do this in 2024. They are making it too obvious they're desperate for to cash in.

Also, it should apply to all online stores, not just locals. Majority of online stores in Lazada and Shopee are from mainland China.

This of course brings into question, how about stores from, say, and ?

Another day, another ebay listing. My pet peeve now isn't flaky sellers - it's the ones who enable Best Offer, but either ignore offers, or send you rude replies when you submit one.

If (as a seller) you think it's low, reply with a counter-offer... chances are the buyer's aiming for somewhere between the asking price and what they're offering anyway.

And above all, if you're not interested in offers, don't advertise that you are. It just wastes everyone's time.

Almost got scammed selling some stuff online. 🤙

Had a person send me their number as an interested buyer and told me to text them. I did (first mistake), and we arranged a meetup time. Then they asked if, for their safety, they could send me a six digit code (some of you already know where this is going) that I could repeat back to them to verify myself.

I said, "absolutely!" And sure enough, I got a Google Voice verification number. lol

If you're not familiar with the scam, shady people will take your phone number and try to create a Google Voice account with it. If you provide them with the 6-digit code that Google sends you, they can "verify" that they are you, and then basically use your phone number to run scams, commit fraud, etc. It's nasty business.

I called them out, blocked them, then reported them to the marketplace website and to the FTC--though, almost certainly, they were using the phone number of another poor soul to carry this out.

I used to work as a social engineer, running phishing campaigns (ethically, with consent lol), against Fortune 1000 companies to assess their level of vulnerability. Luckily for me, I was super familiar with this, but most of the people I told about it have said, "Oh, I probably would have fallen for that...", and even I set myself up for it.

So that is why I'm posting this. Please be aware of sketchy shit like this. If someone is asking you for a verification code over SMS or email, tread with EXTREME caution. Also, it's usually pretty shady if a stranger you're already chatting with wants to move to a new platform. Not always, but if someone emails or messages you on Facebook to ask you to text them, that's a little weird. I'd had legitimate buyers/sellers do that, so it's not unheard of, but it should put you on guard.

If you buy/sell/trade online frequently, it's a good idea to use a dedicated MySudo number, VOIP number, and/or a burner phone for that.

    Stay safe out there, kids.

Why is 4B (still) so expensive?
I've spent hours searching for an affordable set price and most sellers sell it brand new for €100 on average. 😩
Even on it's more or less same price - sometimes even for just the board.

I doubt this to be the case, but if anyone found a set for cheap please do share.
