"Another reason that could be attributed to the increase in attacks is the vulnerabilities in applications running on Linux. "We saw the Log4j attack because of a vulnerability in the Apache server. Apache runs on Linux as well and thus such vulnerabilities can also mean increased attacks," said Sharda Tickoo, technical director for India & SAARC at Trend Micro."

Unfortunately, #opensource has a funding problem, and so a lot of people struggle to find time to commit to their projects.
In many regions though (esp the EU) there is money available to fund you doing open source full time! Particularly in a few different areas related to what the EU is calling "Next Generation Internet" (#NGI) tech.
All these are open for applicants either right now or imminently:
Feels like there is a need for an #opensource library for code which facilitates message posting to Twitter, Mastodon, Bluesky, and Threads (once an API is released.)
And if someone could write it in PHP, that would be great.

Why is #raspberrypi 4B (still) so expensive?
I've spent hours searching for an affordable set price and most sellers sell it brand new for €100 on average. 😩
Even on #eBay it's more or less same price - sometimes even for just the board.
I doubt this to be the case, but if anyone found a #EU set for cheap please do share.
Over the years our #opensource conferences, like @berlinbuzzwords or @FOSSBackstage have resulted in hundreds of videos full of knowledge and we always made a point of making them freely available for everyone after the event. Right now all of them are hosted on YouTube and while we generally want to keep them there, we'd also like to have them in a more decentralized space as well. [1/2]
