    Hypothetically, if you burned out so hard that you quit your job with no backup plan and your options were either look for a new job immediately knowing you're not over the burnout yet, or move somewhere cheap but miserable and take as long as you need, what would you pick?

    ScottStarkey ,
    @ScottStarkey@hoosier.social avatar

    @malwaretech

    I hate that choice.
    I picked choice number 3, stay in the job for many years in the terrible job so I could get insurance for my family at low pay, paying with PTSD and mental health issues.

    Given those two choices, I'd probably pick looking for a new job.

    When I was unemployed last year, I think I could have made it on a low salary low stress job. Medicaid seemed to be working for my wife and me. I'm in my 50's so I/we might be able to coast with a Lean-FIRE strategy.

    In December, we started to federate the accounts of some Flipboard publishers and in February, we introduced Magazines to the fediverse. Now, we’re taking two important steps: federating the accounts of 400 creators and expert curators; and enabling two-way communication so that new followers and fediverse activity are visible and actionable in the Flipboard app.

    To learn more about this, take a look at our blogpost:

    https://flipboard.medium.com/flipboard-federates-11-000-magazines-by-400-creators-and-enthusiasts-82dd94691f74

    Hard to overstate how enshittified and botshitted Google Maps has become. Went looking for my local locksmith on Gmaps. Maps shows 20+ fake locksmith referral scam outlets and doesn't even register the real locksmith, despite it being fully visible in Street View.

    Instead, a red pin on the shop identifies it as a fake locksmith scammer. The real locksmith - which has been there SINCE 1942 (!!) and is a verified merchant - doesn't even show up.
