@thelinuxEXP Sorry if this question was answered before, but why are your videos usually 50 FPS instead of 60 FPS? I would say 60 FPS matches better with the devices that web videos are usually watched on. Is there a reason you chose 50 FPS?

    @davidrevoy I know somebody needs to hear this: If you have trouble with stress, anxiety or sleeping, try cutting out the caffeine! My neurologist advised me to live caffeine-free and I felt a lot better since I did that.

    I still enjoy coffee, it's just decaf! ☕

    This latest video by @thelinuxexperiment is the first video I watched on @peertube where the majority of the data (167 out of 172 MB) actually came from peers rather than the server itself. It proves that their peer-to-peer technique really works for popular videos. That's so cool!

    The only solution I see for myself is open source alternatives. HomeAssistant is remarkably good at detecting who's home.

    @BrodieOnLinux @that_leaflet AUR helpers even almost force you to read the PKGBUILD script that comes with packages. Therefore the user is participating in moderation too. At least they should.

    I disabled that because it annoys me. And it will bite me in the butt one day. But it was my choice!

    @BrodieOnLinux It is (or at least was) a requirement for all PlayStation games to display a legend of all buttons and their mapped actions in all menus.

    I wish there was a tiling window manager like that. I can't remember hotkeys.

    @sjb It's a great time to be using right now, as it's gotten some fresh wind with the UI update and the version (based on K9 Mail) just on the horizon.

    I just think it could be a little more modern with an optional conversation-style interface.

    Just so proud of Mastodon today.

    These times are very challenging. Rather than descend into an abyss of fake news and stident acrimony, somehow Mastodon seems to be largely maintaining a civil tone and self regulating misinformation.

    It is pretty amazing to see an open social media community functioning this well given the meltdown across other platforms.

    Let's continue to demand accuracy and civility while we debate these seminal issues. Let Mastodon be the beacon in the darkness.

    @mastodonmigration I think that's because the organic way posts spread through the network. If no one bothers to share or comment, it simply disappears.

    What is something (feature, modes, settings...) you would like to see become a standard in video games?

    I’ve been thinking about making this thread for a few days. Sometimes, I play a game and it has some very basic features that are just not in every other game and I think to myself: Why is this not standard?! and I wanted to know what were yours....

    @Plume The Witness has no menu and no savegames. When you boot it up, you're instantly exactly where you left off.

    This doesn't work for all games, but I wish more games would do it like that.

    @protonmail I hate how file management on Android is evolving, anyways. I can't properly browse directories because the app is trying it's hardest to hide the fact that filesystems have a tree shape. I don't know why they are doing that. Does anyone know a good open source file explorer for ?
